Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a form of CopperAlloy UNS No. C49300 of such purity and soundness as to besuitable for processing into the products prescribed herein.6.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability isreq

20、uired, the purchaser shall specify the details desired.NOTE 1Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of castingsinto wrought products, it is not always practical to identify a specificcasting analysis with a specific quantity of finished material.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be

21、manufactured by such hot work-ing, cold working, and annealing processes as to produce auniform wrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 The product shall be hot or cold worked to the finishedsize, and subsequently annealed when required, to meet thetemper properties specified.7. Chemical Com

22、position7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements in Table 1 for copper alloy UNS No. C49300specified in the ordering information.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer andpurchaser, limits may be

23、 established and analysis required forunnamed elements.7.3 For alloys in which zinc is listed as “remainder,” zinc isthe difference between the sum of results of all elementsdetermined and 100 %. When all elements in Table 1 aredetermined, the sum of results shall be 99.5 % min.8. Temper8.1 The stan

24、dard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Table 2.8.1.1 Annealed: 061 for rod and bar8.1.2 As Hot Extruded: M30 for rod and bar8.1.3 Cold drawn half hard temper: H02 for rod and bar8.1.4 Cold drawn hard temper: H04 for wire9. Mechanical Property Requirements9.1 Tensile St

25、rength Requirements:9.1.1 Product furnished under this specification shall con-form to the tensile requirements prescribed in Table 2, whentested in accordance with Test Methods E8or E8M.9.1.2 Acceptance or rejection shall be based upon the tensileproperties prescribed in Table 2.10. 31、 Finish, and Appearance12.1 The product shall be free of defects, but blemishes ofa nature that do not interfere with the intended application areacceptable.13. Sampling13.1 Refer to sampling section in Specifications B 249/B 249M or B 250/B 250M.14. Number of Tests and Retests14.1 Test:14.1.1 Chemi

32、cal AnalysisChemical composition shall bedetermined in accordance with the element mean of the resultsfrom at least two replicate analyses of the sample(s).14.2 Retest:14.2.1 When requested by the manufacturer or supplier, aretest shall be permitted when results of tests obtained by thepurchaser fai

33、l to conform to the requirements of the productspecification.14.2.2 The retest shall be as directed in the product speci-fication for the initial test, except the number of test specimensshall be twice that normally required for the specified test.14.2.3 All test specimens shall conform to the produ

34、ctspecification requirement(s) in retest. Failure to conform shallbe cause for rejection.15. Test Methods15.1 Chemical Analyses:15.1.1 In cases of disagreement, the resolution of thedispute shall be subject to agreement between the manufactureror supplier and purchaser. The following methods may be

Inspection17.1 The manufacturer, or supplier, shall inspect and maketests necessary to verify the furnished product conforms tospecification

40、 requirements.17.2 Source inspection of the product by the purchaser maybe agreed upon between the manufacturer, or supplier, and thepurchaser as part of the purchase order. In such case, the natureof the facilities needed to satisfy the inspector, representing thepurchaser, that the product is bein

41、g furnished in accordancewith the specification shall be included in the agreement. Alltesting and inspection shall be conducted so as not to interfereunnecessarily with the operation of the works.17.3 When mutually agreed upon, the manufacturer, orsupplier, and the purchaser shall conduct the final

42、 inspectionsimultaneously.18. In addition, a written notification of rejec-tion shall follow.18.1.3 In case of dissatisfaction with results of the test uponwhich rejection is based, the manufacturer, or supplier, shallhave the option to make cla

46、im for a rehearing.18.2 Rehearing:18.2.1 As a result of product rejection, the manufacturer, orsupplier, shall have the option to make claim for a retest to beconducted by the manufacturer, or supplier, and the purchaser.Samples of the rejected product shall be taken in accordancewith the product sp

47、ecification and subjected to test by bothparties using the test method(s) specified in the productspecification, or alternately, upon agreement of both parties, anindependent laboratory may be selected for the test(s) using thetest method(s) specified in the product specification.19. Certification19

48、.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been either tested or inspected as directedin this specification and requirements have been met.20. Test Report20.1 When specified in the contract or purchase o

49、rder, areport of test results shall be furnished.21. Product Identification21.1 Type and frequency of product identification require-ments shall be specified in the ordering information and shallbe subject to agreement between the purchaser and manufac-turer or supplier.22. Packaging and Package Marking22.1 Packaging:22.1.1 The product shall be separated by size, composition,and temper, and prepared for shipment by common carrier, insuch a manner to afford protection from the normal hazards oftransportation.22.2 Package Marking:22.2.
