Scope1.1 This specification covers the composition and physicalproperties f

Classification4.1 Perlite thermal insulation board is classified as follows:4.1.1 Type 1, Roof Insulation BoardA perlite based roofinsulation cover board.4.1.2 Type 2, Roof Cover or Recover BoardThis is usedprimarily as a field-applied cover board over other roofinsulations or in reroofing

The product is alsoavailable to manufacturers of laminated rigid foam products asspecified in Specification C1289, Type III.4.1.3 Type 3, Roof Cover or Recover BoardAperlite basedcover board that is field applied over other roof insulations orin re-roofing and recover applications. United States16. Materials and Manufacture6.1 CompositionThe basic material of the insulation boardsh

16、all be perlite expanded by the application of heat to formglassy, cellular aggregates. The insulation and cover boardshall be composed of expanded perlite and fibers formed intorigid, flat, rectangular units with a suitable sizing materialincorporated in the product. A facing or coating is potential

17、lypresent on one or both surfaces to prevent excessive hotbitumen strike-in or adhesive absorption during roofing instal-lation.6.2 LaminationThe finished board is either single-ply ormultiple-ply. When multiple-ply boards are supplied, a suitableadhesive shall be used to join the plies.7. Physical

It is possible thatthe nominal thickness will fall outside the thicknesses shown in7.1. See 8.1 for tolerances.7.1.2 It

20、 is acceptable for insulation and cover boards havingthermal resistances other than those values listed to be suppliedas agreed upon by purchaser and seller.7.2 The insulation and cover board shall further conform tothe physical requirements shown in Table 1.8.
