1、Designation: D 2052 05Standard Test Method forColorfastness of Zippers to Drycleaning1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 2052; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number i

2、n parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method covers the determination of change inshade and of staining of zipper stringers under drycleaningconditions. This test method

3、is applicable to the textile portionof zipper stringers of all materials.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as the standard. Within the text, the inch-pound units are shown in parentheses. The valuesstated in each system are not exact equivalents

4、; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in nonconformancewith this test method.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibilityof whoever uses this stand

Summary of Test Method4.1 A specimen of the zipper stringer, in conjunction withmultifiber test fabric is subjected to drycleaning. The dry-cleaned specimen

10、is compared with an original specimen (see10.1) and any change in color of the specimen or staining of themultifiber test cloth is then assessed using the AATCC GrayScale for Color Change or theAATCC Chromatic TransferenceScale, as appropriate.5. Significance and Use5.1 Test Method D 2052 is useful

11、for testing to determine ifthe degree of alteration in shade is satisfactory for the intendedend-use and for determining if unacceptable staining of colorinto adjacent fabric will occur.NOTE 1For guidance in evaluating the results of this test method, refer to Practice D 3692.5.2 This test method is

12、considered satisfactory for accep-tance testing of commercial shipments because the method hasbeen used extensively in the trade for acceptance testing.5.2.1 If there are differences of practical significance be-tween reported test results for two laboratories (or more),1This test method is under th

As a minimum, the test samples should be used thatare as homogeneous as possible, that are drawn from thematerial from which the disparate test results were obtained, and that are randomly assigned in equal numbers to eachlaboratory for testing. The test results from thetwo laboratories should be compared using a statistical test forunpaired data, at probability level chosen prior to the testingseries. If a bias is found, either its cause must be found andcorrected, or futur

Test methods for measuring those properties have notbeen published either because no practical methods have yetbeen developed or because a valid evaluation of the informa-tion resulting from existing unpublished methods requires anintimate and thorough knowledge of zippers.6.
