Scope1.1 These test methods cover the ability of window assem-blies of various types to restrain, delay, or

3、frustrate forcedentry.1.2 For purposes of these test methods, window assembliesare defined as described in 1.2.1-1.2.5 and as shown in Fig. 1.Window assemblies with a combination of operable sash andfixed panes (lites) shall be classified and tested separately foreach type.1.2.1 Type AA window assem

4、bly which incorporates oneor more sash that open by sliding, either vertically or horizon-tally within the plane of the wall.1.2.2 Type BA window assembly which incorporates oneor more sash that are hinged at or near two corners of the sashand that open toward the exterior (outswinging) or toward th

Significance and Use5.1 These test methods are intended t

17、o establish a measureof resistance for window assemblies subjected to attacks (otherthan impacting glazing materials) by unskilled or opportunisticburglars. Resistance to higher levels of force generated byskilled burglary attack requires methods such as alarms,communication, or apprehension systems

18、, or special securityglazing materials more sophisticated than those evaluated bythese test methods.5.2 Entry through a window assembly can be accomplishedby impacting the glazing materials. This method does notevaluate glazing materials for breakage. Other standards mustbe used to evaluate forced e

19、ntry by impacting the glazing.5.3 Acceptance criteria for performance levels are a matterfor authorities having specific jurisdiction to establish. Sug-gested guidelines are found in Annex A1.6. Test Criteria6.1 Window Test SpecimenThe same window assemblyshall be used for all testing and shall cont

20、ain sash or louvershaving the greatest height and width for which approval issought. Each unique sash/frame or louver/frame arrangementshall be tested.6.1.1 The construction of the window test specimen, includ-ing all hardware, components, and arrangement of sash orlouvers shall be representative of

21、 that for which acceptance isdesired.6.1.2 The window test specimen shall consist of the entireassembled unit, including frame, glazing, and anchorage assupplied by the manufacturer for installation in the building.6.1.3 Unless otherwise specified, the window test specimenshall contain annealed glas

22、s for testing and shall be singleglazed if designed for either single or double glazing, or doubleglazed if designed exclusively for multiple glazing. Productstested with glazing materials other than annealed glass shall beused to qualify only the specific glazing material tested.6.1.4 Windows teste

23、d with more than one locking deviceshall not qualify windows with fewer locking devices, regard-less of size.6.2 Performance CriteriaThe performance level is at-tained if all locking devices remain engaged and entry cannotbe gained during the test or upon removal of loads. If anycomponent during tes

24、ting, allowing entry, this shall be consid-ered as failure to attain the performance level. Glazing whichbreaks, but does not allow entry, shall not be considered afailure to attain the performance level.6.3 Multiple SashWindow assemblies with a combinationof operable sash and fixed panes (lites) sh

25、all be classified andtested separately for each type. If multiple sash within awindow assembly are identical in construction and lockingcondition, only one sash need be tested.6.4 Multiple LouverWindow assemblies with a combina-tion of operable louvers, operable sash, or fixed panes (lites), orany c

26、ombination thereof, shall be classified and tested sepa-rately for each type. If multiple louver windows within awindow assembly are identical in construction and lockingcondition, only one louver window need be tested. If multiplelouvers within a louver window are identical in constructionand locki

27、ng condition, only one louver need be tested.6.5 Test SequencePerform the tests for each window testspecimen in the sequence as outlined in Section 10. Thesequence for testing multiple sash shall be at the discretion ofthe testing agency.6.6 LoadingApply test loads and forces at a rate not toexceed

28、45 N/s (10 lb/s). Maintain performance loads for aperiod of 60 6 5s.6.7 Load RemovalAt the conclusion of each test, removeall loads before starting the next test.7. Apparatus7.1 InstrumentationLoad and time measuring deviceswith an accuracy of 62 % of the full scale shall be incorpo-rated in the tes

29、t setups. The scale ranges used shall assure thatthe performance levels are within an accuracy of 65%.7.2 Load AttachmentsBrackets, fasteners, or other de-vices used in performing these tests shall be designed andattached so as to minimize their influence on the test results.7.3 Test FrameThe test f

30、ixture shall be designed andconstructed to accept and rigidly secure the window specimenand to provide rigid points of anchor for all test loads describedin Section 10. The load bearing members of the test fixtureshall be constructed to limit deflection of such members to amaximum of 3 mm (18 in.) u

31、nder full-prescribed load.7.4 Tools for DisassemblyThe following tools shall beused for disassembly of the test specimen:7.4.1 A spatula, putty knife or other non-cutting tool with athin blade, 0.6 6 0.1 mm (0.024 6 0.004 in.) thick, 20 6 2mm(0.78 6 0.08 in.) wide, and 90 6 10 mm (3.5 6 0.4 in.) lon

32、g.(A Warner model #604 Putty Knife is known to meet thesespecifications.)47.4.2 Any non-powered, straight, or Phillips head screw-driver appropriate to the mechanical fastener with a maximumlength of 150 mm (6 in.).7.4.3 Standard slot-type pliers with a 150 to 175 mm (6 to7 in.) overall length.7.5 T

39、paration9.1 Mount the window test specimen into a nominal 40 by100 or 40 by 150 mm (2 by 4 or 2 by 6 in.) lumber surroundfixture, in accordance with the manufacturers written instal-lation instructions.9.2 Install the window test specimen into the test fixture.9.3 Close and lock the window test spec

40、imen. Submit eachoperable unit to five cycles of opening, closing, and lockingprior to testing.10. Procedure10.1 The disassembly test, hardware manipulation test, sashmanipulation test, and louver manipulation test referenced inthe following parts of Section 10 are fully described in AnnexA2.10.2 Ty

41、pe A Window Assembly:10.2.1 Perform the disassembly test defined in Annex A2,A2.1. Following the completion of the disassembly test per-form tests A1 through A7 as defined in Annex A2 for theperformance grade desired using the loads and times indicatedin Table A1.1 in Annex A1. 47、ed panel and the remainder of the window test specimen,attempt to gain entry by attempting to open the glazed panel byhand and manipulating it with these tools, in any combination.Conduct this test continuously for a time limit of (T1).10.6 Type E Window Assembly:10.6.1 Perform the disassembly test

Following the completion of the disassembly testperform test E1 through E5 as defined in Annex A2 for theperformance grade desired using the loads and times indicatedin Table A1.1 in Annex A1. At the completion of the tests E1thorugh E5 perform the hardware manipulation

49、test and thelouver manipulation test defined in Annex A2, A2.2, A2.4.11. Report11.1 The report shall contain a description of the results ofthe test(s) performed in accordance with these test methods.11.2 The report shall also include at least the following:11.2.1 Identification of the window test specimen;11.2.2 Type, size, location, and number of locking devicesand other hardware;11.2.3 Type, location, and number of installation fasteners;11.2.4 Type and thickness of glazing material;11.2.5 Bill of materials;11.2.6 Assembly drawings;11.2.7 Performance leve
