23、, 2014 1-5 Circuit-Switched Data (CSD) An ISDN circuit-switched call for data in which a transmission path between two users is assigned for the duration of a call. Circuit-Switched Voice (CSV) An ISDN circuit-switched call for voice in which the transmission path between two users is assigned for t

24、he duration of a call. Client Main Listing A directory listing that allows a shared tenant provider to offer a directory listing to their client, and is treated as a Main Listing. Examples of shared tenants may be apartment complex, nursing home, etc. Commingling Commingling is defined as the combin

25、ing of UNE services and special access services to one or more facilities or services that a customer has maintained to provide a series connection. Completion Notification Completion Notification is issued by the Network Service Provider upon completion of a request from the Local Service Provider.

26、 Conversion Occurs when an LSP changes the service delivery method of its end users account (e.g., from Resale to UNE/Platform). Cross Reference Listing A directory listing that refers to another listing that may or may not include a telephone number and does not include an address. Cross reference

27、may be used for an alternate spelling of a business name or a business more commonly known under another name. A cross reference listing may appear as an indented listing. Customer Denotes any individual, partnership, association, corporation, or governmental agency or any other entity which subscri

29、 customers address, features/services and equipment. The Customer Service Information may be obtained during the Pre-Order process. Customer/Provider Negotiations Throughout the LSOG and associated industry documents, there are references to terms such as: “Customer/Provider Negotiations”, and “Prov

30、ider/Tariff/Contracts/Negotiations”. Although common industry standard definitions and guidelines may exist, the industry recognizes that there may be variances based on individual provider practices. Typical customer/provider negotiations may include (but not limited to) the following: Use of a fie

Data channel (D channel) The channel that carries ISDN network data between the end users equipment and

32、the providers switch. Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) The technology which utilizes existing copper telephone lines to provide high band width connections to an end user premises utilizing a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM). Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) A networ

33、k device that receives signals from multiple customer digital subscriber line connections and puts the signals on a high speed backbone line using multiplexing techniques. 1.4 DEFINITIONS (CONTINUED) Direct Inward Dial (DID) Allows the direct dialing of individual end user extensions through the use

34、 of trunks dedicated to the customer. ATIS-0405070-1402 Issued June 30, 2014 1-7 Direct Outward Dial (DOD) The ability to dial directly from an extension within a private exchange to a public direct dial network without going through an operator. Directory Number (DN) Directory numbers are telephone

35、 numbers for ISDN. Directory Service Provider (DSP) The DSP is responsible for the Implemented of the LSPs requirement to provide directory assistance/directory listing services for the end user. Distribution Frame (DF) A cross-connect rack for managing and interconnecting the telecommunications cab

36、le between devices. Examples include Main Distribution Frame (MDF), Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) and Toll Distribution Frame (TDF). Drop A connection between a providers cable terminal and an end users premises. Electronic Key Telephone Service (EKTS) The end users equipment that terminates

37、 an ISDN BRI service. Enhanced 911 (E-9-1-1) E-9-1-1 is the US emergency services telephone network. Enhanced Extended Link (EEL) EEL allows requesting customers to serve an end user by extending a providers loop from the end office serving that end user to a different end office in which the custom

38、er is collocated. Emergency Service Number (ESN) An ESN is a list of emergency numbers that correspond to a particular ESZ. This list is used in conjunction with 911 emergency services. 1.4 DEFINITIONS (CONTINUED) Emergency Service Zone (ESZ) An ESZ is a geographic area that is served by a unique mi

39、x of emergency services. This term is used in conjunction with 911 emergency services. Enterprise Listing ATIS-0405070-1402 Issued June 30, 2014 1-8 A directory listing that provides special reverse long distance instructions and always contains two indented phrases; “No Charge to Calling Party” and

40、 “Ask Operator For.” Enterprise listings are always Foreign Listings, are grandfathered and may only be recapped or deleted. Fatal Error A Fatal Error indicates the request could not be accepted by the receiving provider due to a critical error or critical missing/incorrect data (e.g. REQTYP blank o

41、r invalid, CC invalid for state, etc.). A Fatal Error is not considered to be a Local Response and any subsequent submission must be a new request. Feeder Distribution Interface (FDI) A cross-connection point where the feeder plant leading back to the central office and the distribution plant, branc

42、hing out to the end users, meet. Foreign Listing A Foreign Listing is any listing which is requested to be inserted in a directory other than the customers local exchange service area. All Foreign Listings require the customer to specify the directory where they want to be listed. Foreign Exchange L

43、isting A Foreign Exchange Listing is when the listed address and the listed telephone number are not in the same local exchange; the customer listing is in a directory or section of the directory other than that for the customers serving exchange. 1.4 DEFINITIONS (CONTINUED) Full Migration Occurs wh

44、en the new LSP provides disposition for all services/lines on an existing end user account where no services/lines remain on the end user account with the old LSP.
