Classification3.1 The welding materials covered by this specification are classified according to chemical composition and productform. The first two designator
36、s are “ER” for solid wires that may be used as electrodes or rods; “EC” for composite coredor stranded wires; and “EQ” for strip electrodes (see Table 1).3.2 Materials may be classified under more than one classification provided they meet all the requirements of thoseclassifications as specified in

CertificationBy affixing the AWS specification and classification designations to the packaging, or the classification to the product,the manufacturer certifies tha

Rounding-Off ProcedureFor the purpose of determining compliance with the requirements of this standard, the actual test values obtained shallbe subjected to the rounding-off rules of ASTM E 29 or Rule A in Clause B.3 of ISO 80000-1 (the
39、results are the same).If the measured values are obtained by equipment calibrated in units other than those of the specified limit, the measuredvalues shall be converted to the units of the specified limit before rounding off. If an average value is to be compared to the specified limit, rounding of
40、f shall be done only after calculating the average. An observed or calculated value shall be rounded to the nearest unit in the last right-hand place of figures used in expressing the limiting values for otherquantities.
