The 1958 edition provided for ranges of snap head high nickel-copper alloy rivets with head proportions and shank diameters basically t
7、he same as those used hitherto. The proportions of the rivet heads are those endorsed by ISO/TC 20 Aircraft and space vehicles, as are the identification markings contained in this revision of the standard. In general, the dimensions of the rivets were more closely defined than previously, but the s
8、hank tolerances, in common with those for steel snap head rivets in BS SP 76, are wider than those specified for snap head aluminium and aluminium alloy rivets in BS SP 77 to SP 80. The tolerances are so arranged, however, that the maximum diameters are the same.This document makes reference to the

BS SP 82 rivets have cadmium as a plating material, which has been restricted and/or banned for use in many countries owing to environmental and health concerns; they should not be used in new product designs. Local officials should be consulted about any concerns on using cadmium-plated parts.4 Protective finish4.2 Cadmium plating shall be in accordance with the requirements of the latest issue of MoD Defence Equipment and Support Standard Def Stan 03-19 or
