Suitable for making the part. 5 Information to be supplied by the purchaser 5.1 General The following information shall be given in the enquiry and order to assist the manufacturer in supplying the correct grade of material: a)

26、the complete designation as specified in clause 4; b) the dimensions required (the product thickness is the thickness of the base material without the coating); c) the quality required and handling requirements.2 BSI 06-2000 BS 6582:2000 2) Where the purchaser specifies a particular grade of materia

27、l, without invoking this clause, he assumes responsibility that the grade will be satisfactory. 5.2 Options In the event that the purchaser does not indicate his wish to implement any of the general requirements included in clause 6 and specify his requirements at the time of the enquiry and order,

28、the manufacturer shall supply the product on the following basis: a) that a corrosion resistance test is not required (see 6.3); b) that the product will be supplied as coated (see 6.2); c) that the product will be supplied branded (see 6.4); d) that no acceptance testing is required (see 6.5). NOTE

29、 1 A drawing of the part is desirable. NOTE 2 Lead alloy coated flat products conforming to this standard are suitable for welding, brazing and soldering using appropriate methods and conditions. 6 General requirements 6.1 Suitability for making the part NOTE 1 Formability requirements vary widely a

30、nd it is advisable to seek advice from the supplier when considering purchasing material as suitable for a particular application and/or purpose see clause 4f) 2) The coated flat rolled products shall be supplied either: a) with a specified grade of steel base see clause 4d); or b) suitable for maki

When, following an enquiry, the supplier undertakes to supply steel which is suitable for forming into a particular part, the purchaser, when ordering the steel, shall add

32、 the words “Suitable for making the part” after the coating designation. In such cases, the steel supplied shall still be deemed to conform to this standard if there are minor variations from the chemical composition and/or tensile properties specified for that steel. 6.2 Surface protection Terne co
