This standard applies to flat products from over 0.4 mm up to and inc
、luding 2.0 mm thick and widths up to 1 350 mm, in strip and sheet. It applies to products with terne coatings having a nominal mass of 120 g/m 2 and to commercial grade terne coating (CGT) having no specified coating mass but meeting the other requirements of this standard. NOTE The products in this
、 standard can be used for applications where suitability for soldering and cold forming are required and corrosion resistance is a principal factor. The coating mass specified and the thickness of the base material should be compatible with the desired service life and forming requirements. 2 Normat

、the complete designation as specified in clause 4; b) the dimensions required (the product thickness is the thickness of the base material without the coating); c) the quality required and handling requirements.2 BSI 06-2000 BS 6582:2000 2) Where the purchaser specifies a particular grade of materia
、l, without invoking this clause, he assumes responsibility that the grade will be satisfactory. 5.2 Options In the event that the purchaser does not indicate his wish to implement any of the general requirements included in clause 6 and specify his requirements at the time of the enquiry and order,
、the manufacturer shall supply the product on the following basis: a) that a corrosion resistance test is not required (see 6.3); b) that the product will be supplied as coated (see 6.2); c) that the product will be supplied branded (see 6.4); d) that no acceptance testing is required (see 6.5). NOTE
、 1 A drawing of the part is desirable. NOTE 2 Lead alloy coated flat products conforming to this standard are suitable for welding, brazing and soldering using appropriate methods and conditions. 6 General requirements 6.1 Suitability for making the part NOTE 1 Formability requirements vary widely a
