、erBS7033-4:1990 ii BSI 09-1999 Foreword This Part of this BS 7033 has been prepared under the direction of the Textiles and Clothing Standards Policy Committee. A wide range of cleaning and polishing cloths is in use for different applications. BS 7033 specifies requirements for a limited range of c

、loths, suitable for cleaning and polishing applications and is published in five Parts as follows: Part 1: Specification for optical polishing cloths for use on transparent plastics panels; Part 2: Specification for industrial wipers from reclaimed materials, and waste yarn for cleaning and lubricat

、ing purposes; Part 3: Specification for floorcloths and dishcloths; Part 4: Specification for window cleaning cloths; Part 5: Specification for general polishing cloths. In this Part requirements are specified for window cleaning cloths. The standard covers the end products quoted but can also be us

、ed to specify the fabrics from which they are manufactured. Requirements for chamois leather are specified in BS 6715. Many properties cannot be specified objectively and cannot therefore be included in the specification. Examples of such properties include colour, handle, appearance and details of

、additional design features. Public sector purchasing authorities may be able to supply standard patterns which cover these properties and thereby serve to resolve any ambiguities of description. The standard only covers the basic description of the products and their construction and performance req

、uirements. Purchasing authorities therefore may need to include additional information. Appendix A gives test methods. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with

、a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations. In particular attention is drawn to Statutory Instrument No. 26 The Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986.
