Themethodisconcernedwiththeprotectionagainstdecayafterexposuretoawiderangeofmicro organismsoccurringoutofgroundcontactundernaturalconditions.Ittakesintoaccountalsophysico chemicaleffectsofweatheringontheperformanceofthepreservativetreatedwood. Sinc

24、ethelapjointsareexposedtonaturaloutdoorconditionsduringthetestperiod,variationsintest conditionsfromoneexposuresitetoanotherhavetobeexpected.Differencesinclimate,especially rainfall,willinevitablyinfluencethegeneralrateofdevelopmentofdecayfungi.However,by comparingtheresultsobtainedforthetestpreserv

25、ativewiththoseobtainedforuntreatedcontrollap joints,therelativeprotectiveeffectivenessofthepreservativeundertestcanbeevaluated. Allthewoodusedinthetestshallhavebeenh
