2、l forewordThis British Standard is the UK implementation of EN 12200-1:2016. It supersedes BS EN 12200-1:2000 which is withdrawn.The responsible UK committee gives the following advice concerning the scope and contents of EN 12200-1.a) EN 12200-1:2016 has been extended to cover pipes manufactured by

3、 multi-layer co-extrusion and the use of acrylic materials for both the outer layer of the pipe and the fittings. It also allows greater use of recycled PVC-U material.b) EN 12200-1:2016 is specific to rainwater downpipe systems installedoutdoors. For indoor rainwater downpipe reference should bemad

4、e to standards for soil and waste discharge within the buildingstructure, e.g. BS EN 1329-1:2014.NOTE In the UK, plastics rainwater downpipe systems installed outdoors normally have “unsealed” joints (see Table 2 which details wall thickness requirements for both sealed and unsealed systems).c) Sinc

5、e in Table 12 reference is made to “stage 3” of the grey scaleaccording to EN 20105-A02, the reference here and to this standard inclause 2 should be considered to relate to the latest published edition(currently 1995) of that standard.d) The unique UK diameter of 82.4 mm minimum (mean outsidediamet

6、er) as detailed in BS 4514 is not listed in Table 1 but iscommonly used for rainwater applications in the UK. It is advised thatpipes and fittings to this size will still be able to be marked EN 12200-1when manufactured in accordance with the diameter tolerancesspecified in BS 4514 and using the gen

7、eral rules for other dimensionssuch as wall thickness as detailed in Clause 6.2.2 of this standard.The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee PRI/88, Plastics piping systems, to Subcommittee PRI/88/1, Plastics piping for non-pressure applications.A list of organizat
