、 3 1 Scope This is one of a number of parts of ISO11125 dealing with the sampling and testing of metallic abrasives for blast-cleaning. The types of metallic abrasive and requirements on each are contained in the various parts of ISO11124. The ISO 11124 and ISO11125 series have been drafted as a coh

、erent set of International Standards on metallic blast-cleaning abrasives. Information on all parts of both series is given inAnnex A. This part of ISO 11125 specifies a test method for the determination of foreign matter in metallic blast-cleaning abrasives. The purpose of the test is to establish

、the level to which the abrasive is contaminated by foreign matter. The level of foreign matter, e.g.oxides and residual metallurgical slag, is determined by magnetic separation. 2 Normative reference The following standard contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisi

、ons of this part of ISO11125. At the time of publication, the edition indicated was valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this part of ISO11125 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent edition of the standard indicated below

、 sample prior to carrying out the test procedure. 6 Procedure Carry out the determination in duplicate. 6.1 Weigh, using the balance (3.1), (100 0,1)g of the sample. 6.2 Spread out a small quantity (approximately20g) of the sample in a thin layer on a sheet of paper. 6.3 Pass the magnet (3.2) over t

、he surface to remove the metallic abrasive particles. Retain the residue. NOTE 1The layer has to be sufficiently thin to ensure that no metallic particles are trapped. 6.4 Repeat the procedure described in6.2 and6.3 until all the sample has been separated. Clean the magnet frequently during use to a
