2、 by the “Telecommitnicatiors” Commission : “The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations, considering - that normally users will refer to the “General Informations pages” of telephone directories for the purpose of finding out how to use telephone services and apply the c
3、orrect procedures, - that knowledge of the appropriate information given in the “Pages of General Information” of telephone directories will enhance the development of national and international traffic by users when native or foreign, - that the similarity of presentation in the “Pages of General I
4、nformation” would make the search easier for foreign visitors, O recommends - that the “Pages of General Informations” of the telephone directories of the various countries bear a similarity - that the information listed in the Annex be published in the “Pages of General Information” of the telephon
5、e - that each piece of information be shown in the indicated priority according to the importance of its use, - that the information be “illustrated pictorially” (e.g. using appropriate letters and colour references, as well as putting it in the appropriate place in the rst pages of the directory) s
6、o it be congenial to the users, - that in order to make this presentation useful also to foreign visitors it be: - described in brief, concise, clear and simple language, - based on a specific terminology, - all information regarding a principal service be grouped in logical sequence, - operational
7、procedures be explained by the use of symbols (drawings with symbols so the meaning could be - using the usual drawings (pictures) to identify important numbers of services, - using sequences to explain operational procedures, in order to facilitate the task of finding out how to use the service, fo
