34、arging equipment, existing microfilm can be used for: a. Rescaling drawings (.e., metric conversion) b. Scissors and paste-up drafting C. Refurbishing and updating old drawings d. Recreating lost originais. 2. l .7 Security, Protection Against Loss and Damage - Mi- crofilm copies shall be stored off
35、 premises or in a separate location in a secure area to protect valuable and irreplaceable information against loss by fire, theft, deterioration and mysterious disappearances. 2.2 The design of the microfilm systems should take into consideration that: a. Everyone involved in the system from design
36、 to the end user should understand the program, the system and the benefits to be achieved. b. It satisfies the present and future requirements. c. The system and operations will be as simple as possible. d. Working drawings submitted for microfilming will be processed without undue delay (should be
37、 con- sidered when developing procedures). e. Information on drawings and associated documents have been microfilmed will be available to users as soon as possible after the operations have been completed. 3. INDEXING OF MICROFI LM 3.1 1 After the drawings have been microfilmed, the micro- form shal
38、l be accurately identified and filed. Irnproper- ly identified or misfiled microfilm is almost impossible to find as all microfilm images tend to look alike. Therefore, it is essential to design a good indexing and retrieval system for the microform to be used to full ad vantage. 4. ROLL FILM 4.1 Ea
39、ch roll shall be stored in its own approved container and each container clearly labelled with the roll nurn- ber, first and last drawing numbers and sub-groups. II est donc essentiel dtablir un systme adquat dindexation et de rcupration afin de tirer pleinement avantage de la micrographie. Since several drawings or a set of drawings and their associated documents can be stored in one jacket, care should be taken
48、to identify the contents. Each jacket in a series should be indexed to indicate that it is part of a series such as 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3. Jackets may be identified by one or more of the following methods: Eye-readable identifiers Color coding stripes Edge notching APERTURE CARDS The most used microform for drawing systems is the aperture card, also referred to as a unitized 35 mm microfilm carrier, see CAN2-72.14-M (IS0 3272/1 ill.
