20、6.1.1 GeneralThe criteria specified in Clauses 6.1.2 to 6.1.6 shall be used to assess the equipment for arcing. The equipment shall meet the criteria specified in Clauses 6.1.2 to 6.1.6 to qualify as arc-resistant equipment.6.1.2 Criterion No. 1 DeformationDoors, covers, wiring plugs, windows, and s

21、imilar parts shall not open. Bowing or other distortion may occur provided that no part comes out as far as the position of the indicators or walls (whichever is closer) on any side. An installation that is mounted closer to the wall than tested shall be considered to meet Criterion No. 1 provided t

22、hat the following conditions are met:(a) The permanent deformation shall be less than the intended distance to the wall.(b) Exhausting gases shall not be directed to the wall.6.1.3 Criterion No. 2 FragmentationNo fragmentation of the enclosure shall occur within the time specified for the test. Smal

23、l parts may be ejected from any assessed external surface above a height of 2 m (79 in) and from any external surface not under assessment. There shall be no restriction on the number of parts allowed to eject, but the mass of individual parts shall not exceed 60 g.6.1.4 Criterion No. 3 Burn-through

24、Arcing shall not cause holes in the accessible sides up to a height of 2 m (79 in) as follows:(a) Accessibility Type 1 Arcing shall not cause holes in the freely accessible front of the enclosure.(b) Accessibility Type 2 Arcing shall not cause holes in the freely accessible front, sides, and rear of

25、 the enclosure.Any opening in the switchgear caused by direct contact with an arc will also ignite an indicator mounted outside the switchgear at that same point. Because it is not possible to cover the entire area under assessment with indicators, any opening in the area under assessment that resul

26、ts from direct contact with an arc shall be considered cause for failure.6.1.5 Criterion No. 4 Indicators (see Clause 5.4)No indicators shall ignite as a result of escaping gases. Indicator ignition or holes as a result of glowing particles or indicators ignited as a result of the burning of paint,

27、labels, nameplates, or mimic bus are acceptable. High-speed movies or video may be used to evaluate the cause of indicator ignition.Surface discoloration or charring that does not result in glowing or flaming of the indicator cloth shall be allowed. Any indicator cloth with surface discoloration or

28、charring shall be replaced with new cloth prior to further testing.6.1.6 Criterion No. 5 GroundingAll the grounding connections shall remain effective.6.2 Test reportThe following information shall be included in the test report:(a) a description of the test unit with a drawing showing(i) the main d

29、imensions of the equipment;(ii) the method of anchoring the equipment to the floor or walls;(iii) any protective devices employed to limit fault current duration;(iv) the dimensions specified in Clause 5.1.1.6, where applicable; and19(Replaces p. 19, August 2011)C22.2 No. 0.22-11 2012 CSA GroupJune

30、2012(v) areas where devices such as relays, meters, and control devices might be mounted;Note: This information is given to identify the design in the manufacturers test report. It is not necessary to provide this construction information in a published test document for customer use.(b) the arrange

31、ment of the test connections of Clause 5.2.6.1 and the point of initiation of the arc;(c) the arrangement of indicators with respect to the accessibility type;(d) the following prospective calibration values:(i) the rms value of the ac component of the prospective current;(ii) the highest peak value

32、 of the prospective current;(iii) the test duration as specified by the laboratory;(iv) the actual test voltage; and(v) the frequency;(e) the following arcing current test values:(i) the highest peak current value;(ii) the duration of arc current; and(iii) the rms value of arcing current, including

33、the maximum, minimum, and ratio of maximum value of the ac current component to the minimum value (see Clause 5.2.3);(f) an oscillogram(s) showing currents and voltages; and(g) the assessment of the test results and of compliance with Clause 6.1.6.3 Marking6.3.1 NameplateThe following information sh

34、all be provided on a nameplate to identify the arc resistance rating of the equipment:(a) the accessibility type;(b) the internal arcing short-circuit current;(c) the arcing duration;(d) the type of protective device, where applicable; and(e) the rated maximum clearing time for the protective device

35、 specified in Item (d).When fuses or fast-acting protective devices have been employed to achieve the arc resistance rating, the term “DEVICE LIMITED” shall be entered on the nameplate under Item (c), and the specific device shall be indicated by part number under Item (d). The rated maximum clearin

36、g time for the protective device (maximum operating time for a fuse or the combined operating times for a sensor and switching device) shall be entered under Item (e).6.3.2 Doors and coversEquipment shall be marked:“CAUTION: To maintain arc-resistant rating, all doors and covers must be closed and p
