National foreword This document (EN 13204:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 192 “Fire and rescue service equipment”, (Secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom),
6、 Working Group WG 7 “Hydraulic rescue tools and lifting bags” (Secretariat: NEN, Netherlands). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was DIN-Normenausschuss Feuerwehrwesen (DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection), Working Committee NA 031-04-10 AA Rettungsgerte Sp

Safety and minimum performance requirements, and test methods for double acting hydraulic rescue tools used by fire and rescue services have been specified so that this document can be deemed a harmonized standard which can be applied to fulfil the essential requirements of the
8、 New Approach Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive). Hydraulic rescue tools are used by fire and rescue services for cutting through, spreading or pushing apart structural parts of road vehicles, trains and aircrafts involved in accidents. The aim is to assist whilst extracting the casualties o
9、r to create a working space for paramedical services. Working Committee NA 031-04-10 AA Rettungsgerte SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 7 in FNFW revised DIN Specification DIN SPEC 14752, a Technical Report which gives examples which help in better classifying and comparing the performance of hydraulic cutting d
10、evices for fire and rescue services that are in accordance with DIN EN 13204. This specification contains an alternative comparison method as specified in the American standard ANSI/NFPA 1936, Standard on Powered Rescue Tools, which categorizes cutting capacity according to various steel profiles. T
11、his makes it possible to compare devices on an individualized basis, because classification as in DIN EN 13204 is based on the lowest steel profile cutting capacity. The next revision of DIN EN 13204 will take DIN SPEC 14752 into consideration, and Germany will recommend a classification of cutting
12、capacity in terms of the various steel profiles along the lines of the system laid down in the American standard ANSI/NFPA 1936:2010, Standard on Powered Rescue Tools, as Germany considers this system to be more advantageous. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this do
13、cument may be the subject of patent rights. DIN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
