The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Feuerwehrwesen (DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection), Working Committee NA 031-04-04 AA Schluche und Armaturen SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 1 und WG 8. Together

6、 with DIN EN 694 and DIN EN 1947, this standard is one of a series of firefighting hose standards that have been simultaneously revised by CEN/TC 192/WG 1 “Hoses for firefighting”. The former Annexes A to E including the test methods have been deleted and the test methods are now centrally specified

7、 in DIN EN 15889, Firefighting hoses Test methods. In the present standard, reference is now made to the relevant annexes in DIN EN 15889. Layflat hoses as in this document serve to convey fire extinguishing media (water, water with additives, etc.) and are used with wall hydrants as in DIN EN 671-2

8、 or DIN 14461-6. When empty, such hoses can be rolled or folded flat. Because this document takes into consideration all hoses currently in use in Europe, eight possible inside diameters are given. During the next revision of this document, the extent to which such a number of inside diameters is ne

9、cessary will be reviewed on the basis of current market considerations. This European Standard does not specify a designation. The following designation of firefighting hoses as in this standard is recommended: Designation of a layflat hose with an inside diameter of 42 mm, which can only be used at

10、 temperatures above 30 C (include only for temperatures below 20 C), a length of 30 m, with coupling: Hose DIN EN 14540 42 30 30 K The National Annex NA gives recommendations as to which hoses as in this standard should be used to replace hoses as in the former DIN 14811-1 (withdrawn). The couplings

11、 to be used with such hoses are given in National Annex NB. Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 14540:2007-07 as follows: a) The former Annexes A to E including the test methods have been deleted; reference is now made to the relevant annexes in DIN EN 15889; b) the standard has been editor

DIN EN 14540:2014-09EN 14540:2014 (E) 4 Introduction A fixed system is a manually operated unit installed in a building in order to make it possible for the occupants to control and extinguish a small fire. The system consists of fixed units mounted on walls or

35、in cabinets permanently connected to a water supply. The fixed units are composed of a coupling, a valve with a pressure indicator, a layflat hose with its support and a nozzle. The fixed systems are specified in EN 671-2, Fixed firefighting systems Hose systems Part 2: Hose systems with lay-flat ho

36、se. DIN EN 14540:2014-09EN 14540:2014 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for non-percolating layflat hoses for fixed systems. The hoses are intended for use at a maximum working pressure of 1,5 MPa over a range of inside diameters from 25 mm to 52 mm. Th

37、is European Standard applies exclusively to hoses for fire-fighting purposes intended for use at a minimum ambient temperature of 20 C in normal conditions, and a minimum temperature of 30 C in colder climatic conditions and a maximum ambient temperature of +60 C. Hoses conforming to this standard s

38、hould be used with fire hose couplings conforming to the relevant national standards for couplings. NOTE 1 Hoses for use at ambient temperatures below 20 C can be supplied if they have been tested at the specified lower temperature in accordance with 6.4 and identified by their marking in Clause 8 f

39、). Hoses in marine applications and/or aggressive environments to be used with wall hydrants as specified in EN 671-2 can conform to the requirements of this standard. 43、N 14540:2014-09EN 14540:2014 (E) 6 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN ISO 8330 and the following apply. 3.1 layflat hose hose with a soft wall which, when unpressurized internally, collapses to such an extent that the inner faces of the i

44、nside diameter make contact and the hose takes up a flat cross-sectional appearance 3.2 jacket circular woven seamless reinforcement 4 Materials and construction of hose The hose shall be uncovered. It shall consist of the following: a) a water impermeable rubber or plastics lining; b) a synthetic f

45、ibre jacket. 1) The hose jacket can be dyed or pigmented. 2) The hose manufacturer should weave the jacket and assemble the jacket and lining. The lining should be as smooth as possible so as to minimize friction. 5 Dimensions, tolerances and maximum mass 5.1 Inside diameter and maximum mass The ins

46、ide diameter of the hose and tolerances when measured in accordance with EN ISO 4671 shall conform to the requirements given in Table 1. The mass per metre length for a length of hose of at least 2 m, without couplings fitted, shall not exceed the value given in Table 1. Table 1 Inside diameter, tol

49、ic requirements 6.1.1 Deformation under normal working pressure The dimensional stability of the hose when tested in accordance with EN ISO 1402, shall conform to the requirements of Table 2 and Table 3. The initial test pressure shall be 0,07 MPa, and the final test pressure shall be 1,0 MPa. The twisting line shall be clockwise.
