5、 that in addition to the Montreal Protocol mentioned in the Introduction to the European Standard Regulation (EC) No. 2037/2000 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 June 2000 on substances that deplete the ozone layer, which is valid throughout the EU, is also to be observed because s
6、ome of the substances included in Table 1 of the European Standard are hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), which are governed by the above-mentioned regulation. To ensure the level of safety and protection generally accepted in Germany for gaseous fire-extinguishing systems, the following remarks shou
7、ld be noted when applying DIN EN 15004-1 in Germany: A higher safety level than that described in DIN EN 15004-1 can be implemented at any time. The specifications of this standard do not cancel any stipulations laid down within the context of insurance considerations. Stricter requirements regardin
8、g the availability and effectiveness of fire extinguishing systems may apply for insurance purposes1). As regards the requirements covering safety and the protection of personnel handling gaseous extinguishing systems specified in clauses 5 and 9 and Annex G, the following should be noted: This stan
9、dard contains information and recommendations regarding safety and personal protection. In addition, reference is made in the standard to relevant national regulations and technical rules, which in some cases take precedence over the contents of the present standard, particularly as regards personal
10、 protection. In Germany the technical rules published by the employers liability insurance associations and VdS Schadenverhtung GmbH, etc. are to be observed. As regards requirements covering the design of systems for protection against electrical and electronic hazards, as described in 7.5.1.3, the
11、 following should be noted: When designing gaseous extinguishing systems for use in Germany, the extinguishing concentration should be at least that determined for wood or plastics in accordance with 7.5.1.3, or at least 95 % the value determined for heptane (whichever is greater), due to frequent c
12、hanges in facilities and cable configurations and to maintain the level of safety and protection generally accepted in Germany. These design specifications also meet the requirements of the relevant VdS CEA Guidelines. As regards proof of qualification for installing and maintaining gaseous extingui
13、shing systems as in this standard, the following should be noted in addition to the recommendations given in the Introduction and the requirements specified in subclause 4.1 of the standard: To ensure the safe functioning, effectiveness and reliability of gaseous extinguishing systems as in this sta
14、ndard, such systems may only be installed and maintained by qualified companies which are suitably organized and equipped. In Germany, companies can provide proof of such qualification in the form of recognition by the VdS Schadenverhtung GmbH as being qualified to install the particular gaseous ext
