This standard concretizes the basic requirements set out in Annex I of the EU Machinery Directive 98/37/EC (valid until 28 December 2009) and th
6、e new EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC which becomes applicable on 29 December 2009 relating to work holding chucks to be placed on the EEA market, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with such requirements. Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Of
7、ficial Journal of the European Union, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (the so-called “presumption of conformity”). 46、e means listed below shall be used during the design and construction of chucks in order to protect any person from being exposed to hazards: a) The chuck and its proper actuating equipment (e.g. cylinder) shall be compatible (see 6.1.9); b) The balance quality factor G shall be provided by the manu
47、facturers accompanying documents (see ISO 1940-1:1986); c) Base jaws of chucks shall be positively prevented (e.g. by locking pins) from being flung out by centrifugal force (see 3.23.6 of !EN ISO 12100-1:2003“); d) Chucks with mass greater than 20 kg shall be equipped with means (e.g. threaded hole
48、s) for their handling (see 6.2). Verification: by checking the relevant drawings, inspection and type test certificate. 5.2 Special requirements For compensated chucks, nmaxshall be stated by the manufacturer. For non compensated chucks, nmaxshall not exceed the speed corresponding to a calculated l
49、oss of 67% of the total measured static clamping force with the manufacturers standard jaws, e.g. hard top jaw of stated mass mounted on the base jaws positioned at the stated radius of gyration. Verification: by checking the relevant technical file. 5.2.1 Power operated chuck Chuck or chucking equipment (cylinders) shall be equipped with devices to ensure that the clamping force is effectively applied (e.g. travel sensors before stroke end).
