Representatives of manufacturers and users of edge-banding machines fed by chains, and of the employers liability insurance associations contributed to th

This standard contains specifications giving detail to the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, and which apply to machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilit
8、ate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of that directive. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Dire
9、ctive (“presumption of conformity”). The International Standards referred to in Clause 2 and in the Bibliography and taken over as European Standards have been published as the corresponding DIN EN ISO Standards with the same number. Where the International Standards referred to are not also DIN ISO
10、 Standards with the same number, there are no national standards available, except for: ISO 14118 DIN EN ISO 1037 Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 1218-4:2009-12 as follows: a) in Clause 2, the normative references have been updated, and for European Standards which have been published a
11、s the corresponding ISO or IEC Standards, reference is now made to the International Standards; b) safety-related terms and definitions have been added to Clause 3; c) d) a new Subclause 5.2.10 “Tele-service” specifying requirements for machine safety during tele-control operations has been included
12、; e) in Subclause 5.3.3.6 “Tool fixing devices”, more detailed requirements for hydraulic tool fixing devices have been specified; f) in Subclause 5.3.4 “Braking”, the requirements for the braking control have been fundamentally revised, and the specifications for braking tests have been moved to th
13、e normative Annex A; in Subclause 5.2 “Controls”, the requirements for machine safety functions have been brought in line with the Performance Level concept according to ISO 13849-1. Consequently, the requirements regarding adjustment of tools and processing units have been dropped. The requirements

47、ds, hazardous situations, and events as listed in Clause 4, which are relevant to edge banding machines fed by chains with manual loading and unloading and maximum work-piece height capacity of 100 mm, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer, including re
48、asonably foreseeable misuse.The work-piece is fed through the processing units by an integrated feed. Feeding chains also include “feeding belts”.For the purpose of this International Standard, an edge banding machine fed by chains is hereinafter referred to as “machine”.The machine is designed to p
49、rocess in one pass, one end (single end machine), or both ends (double end machine) panels of wood materials with similar physical characteristics as wood, as well as gypsum plaster boards.Edges to be applied by the machine can be made of paper, melamine, plastic or composite materials, aluminium or light alloy, veneer or solid wood.This International Standard also applies to machines fitted with the following: auxiliary devices essential for edge banding machines fed by chains (see 3.1); sanding belt units; fixed or movable workpiece support; a
