Abstract. This commercial item description covers a self- inflating s

2、leeping mat to insulate from the cold and moisture of bare ground when placed under a sleeping bag, and also to cushion soldiers from obtrusive objects when lying on the ground. 1. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 1.1 Description. The self-inflating sleeping mat shall have a minimum outside dimensions of 20

3、 inches wide and 72 inches long. The mat shall be a minimum of 1 inch thick with no load and fully inflated. The mat shall be constructed of olive green nylon fabric fully bonded to urethane foam, the bonded fabric shall be 4.5 2 0.2 oz/sq.yd. The mat shall have a sealed seam of 1/4 + 1/8, -0 inch.

4、The mat shall be self-inflated when the plastic air valve is opened. Deflation of the mat shall be achieved by pushing air out through the plastic valve. The total weight of the mat shall not exceed 1.9 pounds. Each mat shall come with a repair kit consisting of four round 2-3/4 inches diameter, oli

5、ve green nylon patches, 0.20 fluid ounces of cement in a tube, and a repair instruction sheet. Care and use instruction shall be furnished with each mat. A commercial type label is acceptable provided that an additional printed c

8、loth label containing the contractors name, contract number, and NSN is used. The commercial label shall include care instructions and fiber content information. 2. QUALITY ASSURANCE 2.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the product offered meets

9、 the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery thereafter as may

10、be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 2.2 Workmanship. The finished sleeping mat shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose thread, lint, and foreign matter removed. 2.3 Responsibility for Inspection. The supplier is responsible for assuring the product conforms to the requ

11、irements. Sleeping mat lots will be inspected to determine conformance with the Commercial Item Description and the successful offerers technical proposal as negotiated. Acceptability of sleeping mat lots will be determined by the use of “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes“,

12、 ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control. Sampling procedures will be designated by the Government at the time of award. The sample is one sleeping mat. The sleeping mat shall be examined for commercial type defects only. 2.4 Requlatory reuuirements. The offeror/contrac

13、tor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practical. 3. PACKAGING 3.1 Packaqinq. Each mat shall be rolled tightly, or folded and rolled tightly. One rolled mat and one repair kit shall be packaged in a plastic bag conforming to type i or

14、II, style 1, 4 or 5 of PPP-B-26. 3.2 Packinq. Twelve mats shall be packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style RSC-L, variety SW or SF, with a DW liner, class domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. The inside dimensions of the box shall be approximately 22-1/2 inches in length, 17 inches in width, and

15、 12 inches in depth. The box shall be closed in accordance with appendix of PPP-B-636. Boxes shall be palletized on a 4-way entry wing-t

16、ype pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Pallet pattern shall be 3 in accordance with the appendix of MIL- STD-147. 3.4 Markinq. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 4. NOTES 4.1 Orderinq data. Acquisition documents must specify the following: a. Title, number, and date
