SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This document covers a pole-supported six-sided pyram

2、idal tent fabricated of wind-resistant, cotton sateen cloth. A fire-resistant insulting liner and a protective cover for the tent and components are provided with the tent. 2. 27、als and components shall be as specified herein and in referenced documents and drawings. Materials not definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer provided the complete item complies with all provisions of this document. It is encouraged that recycled material be

28、used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of this document. *3.2.1 Cloth, wind-resistant sateen, cotton. The cloth for the tent shall be Camouflage Green 483 and shall conform to MIL-C-12095. *3.2.2 Cloth, cotton duck. The cotton duck for the peak reinforcement shall be Camouflage Gre

29、en 483 and shall conform to type I of MIL-C-43627. Requirements for colorfastness to weathering shall not apply. *3.2.2.1 Cloth, coated. The cloth for the tent cover shall conform to type II, class 2 of MIL-PRF-20696 and the color shall be Camouflage Green 483. *3.2.2.2 Fastener tape. The fastener t

30、apes, hook and pile shall conform to type II, class 3, Color 3422 of A-A-55126. 3.2.3 Cloth, netting, nylon. The nylon netting for the ventilator opening and screen door shall conform to type I or II of MIL-C-3395. 3.2.4 Shield, stovepipe, tent. The flexible, silicone rubber coated stovepipe shield

31、shall conform to MIL-S-43002. *3.2.5 Tape, textile, cotton. The tape shall be Camouflage Green 483 and shall conform to type I, class 4, inch, inch, 1-1/2 inch and 2 inch widths (as specified on applicable drawings) of MIL-T-43566. For covers only, polypropylene tape conforming to type I, class 4, i

32、nch width of MIL-W-44049 may be used as an alternate. *3.2.6 Webbing, textile, cotton. The webbing shall be Camouflage Green 483 and shall conform to type IIb, class 4, 1 inch width and type III, class 4, 5/8 inch and 1-1/2 inch widths (as specified on applicable drawings) of MIL-W-530. For covers o

33、nly, polypropylene webbing conforming to type IIb, class 4, 1 inch width of MIL-W-44049 may be used as an alternate. *3.2.7 Webbing, textile, woven, low elongation. The webbing shall be natural, conforming to type I, 1 inch width of MIL-W-43638. 3.2.8 Thread, polyester. The thread for the tent scree

34、ns and cover shall conform to type I, class 1, sub-class B, shade S-1 (C.A. 66022) of V-T-285. The dyed thread shall show fastness to weathering equal to or better than the standard shade sample. When no standard shade sample is available, the thread shall show good fastness to weathering. Provided

Thread sizes shall be as follows: For all stitching except zig-zag - Size F for needle and size stitching, bartacking and E for bobbin stitching indicated by “Z” on drawings For z

36、ig-zag stitching and - Size E for needle and bobbin bartacking For stitching indicated by “Z” on drawings - Size F needle, size E for looper. 3.2.9 Lines, tent. The tent lines shall conform to class D of MIL-L-1709 in the following types: Type LII (Intermediate eave line, corner eave line) LIII (Cor

37、ner line) except that the length shall be 20 feet LIV (Door eave line) 3.2.10 Cord, polyester. The cord used for the sock lines, toggle loops and beckets shall be Camouflage Green 483, 1/8 inch diameter cord conforming to MIL-C-43256. 3.2.11 Cord, cotton. The cord for the footstops and drip cap stif

38、fener shall conform to type I, class 3, size No. 7 of A-A-55622. The footstops shall be as shown on Drawing 5-4-285. 3.2.12 Toggles. 3.2.12.1 Toggles, wood. The wood toggles of the design and dimensions shown on Drawing 5-4-288, shall be fabricated from uniformly dried, straight-grained lumber and s

39、hall not contain more than 15 percent moisture when tested as specified in 4.4.1.1. The toggles shall be free from knots, shakes, checks, splits, or splintery surface. Any of the following woods may be used: Hickory Beech Pecan Maple, hard Red or White Oak Birch Rock Elm Ash *3.2.12.2. Toggles, meta

The metal toggles shall be of the design and dimensions shown on Drawing 5-4-286 and shall be fabricated from brass wire conforming to alloy No. 270, half hard temper of ASTM B134, ASTM B159, ASTM B206. The toggles shall have a black chemical finish. 3.2.13 Slips, tent line. The tent line slips s

The slide fasteners shall conform to type III, style 1, size H, wire stirrup pulls of V-F-106. Slide fastene

42、r chain shall be fabricated of brass or polyester coil. The slider for the brass chain shall be brass and the slider for the polyester coil shall be die cast zinc alloy. The slide fastener tape shall be dyed to match CG 483 and be water repellent and mildew resistant. (Tapes made of 100 percent poly

43、ester need not be tested for mildew resistance.) The color of the tape after treatment will be considered acceptable. The tape shall show good fastness to weathering. Alternatively, the slide fastener chain shall be polyester continuous monofilament in a ladder or coil type configuration. Color of t

44、he chain shall be CG 483 or natural finish brass and the sliders shall be brass. 3.2.15 Rings, dee. The dee rings shall conform to class 1 or 2, configuration K, 1 inch by inch of MIL-R-3390. *3.2.16 Ring, connecting. The connecting rings shall be of steel wire or cast malleable iron, black enamel,

45、phosphate treated, zinc plate finished, size 2 or 5 in accordance with Drawing 4-1-206. *3.2.16.1 Steel wire. The steel wire shall conform to steel numbers 1006 to 1020 in accordance with ASTM A853, ASTM A818, ASTM A641 or ASTM A809. *3.2.16.2 Steel tube. The steel tube shall be seamless, round in a

46、ccordance with ASTM A513 and ASTM 519. *3.2.16.3 Malleable iron. The malleable iron shall be grade I (35018)-Black, ungalvanized or grade II (32510)-Black, ungalvanized in accordance with ASTM A47. The first three digits of the grade designations indicate the minimum yield strength ( x 100 p.s.i.).

47、The last two digits indicate the minimum elongation (percent in 2 inches). 3.2.17 Plate, peak. The peak plate shall conform to type XVIII of MIL-P-500. *3.2.18 Snaphooks. The snaphooks shall conform to NASM 43770/10. *3.2.19 Grommets, metallic. The grommets shall conform to type III, class 3 of NASM
