MIET-44427 DETAILED SPECIFICATION TENT, SOLDIER CREW This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers

2、two types of a frame supported soldier crew tent equipped with a frame, tent, pins, liner, fly and a gear net. 1.2 Classification. The end item shall be examined for the defects listed in Table II. Only those dimensions that can be evaluated without

Tents shall be tested as specified in 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 for compliance with the requirements of 3.3.3, 3.3.3.1 and 3.7. The lot size shall be expressed in units of tent bodies. T

26、he sample unit shall be one completely fabricated tent body. The inspection level shall be S-3. The lot shall be rejected if one or more sample units fail to meet the requirement. *4.4.6 Packaging examination. The fully packaged end items shall be examined for marking, materials, workmanship and con

The tent body assembly and any components utilizing transparent seam tape, shall be

28、 tested on any two areas as follows: any two seams on the tent assembly and any two seams on the components utilizing seam tape 4.5.1.1 Procedure. Suspend the seamed section of the test fabric in the center of a 6 2 1/8 inch diameter hoop and form a depression with the seamed fabric in the hoop to a

29、 depth of 1 - + YI inch. Slowly pour 500 ml of water at 77“ t 4F into the cupped area (depression) and observe the under surface of the fabric for water penetration. Any wicking of water along the sewing thread, identified by a discoloration or darkening of the thread within 5 minutes after water is

30、 poured shall constitute a test failure. Water leakage through the needle holes or between the plies of the lapped seam fabric shall not be considered a failure. tested as follows: *4.5.2 Erectionlstrikhg of tent test. The complete tent assembly shall be erectedktruck a. The tent shall be unpacked a

31、nd completely erected in accordance with Drawing No. 5-4-7676. All doors, pockets, zippers and straps shall be operated to ensure performance. b. After erection Set-up is completed, the tent shall be completely struck (taken down) and packed. The inability to erectktrike tent shall be considered a t

32、est failure. 5. PACKAGING *5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascert

33、ain requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within the Military Departments System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available fi-om the managing Military Depart

34、ments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. NOTES *(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but is not mandatory.) 6.1 Intended use. The tent is intended for use by up t

35、o five soldiers with gear in all climactic conditions. *6.2 Acquisition reauirements. Acquisition documents must specifi the following: a. Title, number, and date of this specification. b. Issue of DODISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue of individual documents re

36、ferenced (see 2.1.1 and 2.2). c. When first article is required (see 3.1,4.3 and 6.4). d. Levels of preservation and packing (see 5.1). 6.3 Sample. The fist article should be a preproduction sample. The contracting officer should speci the appropriate type of first ar

The contracting officer should include specific instructions in all acquisition instruments regarding arrangements for selection, inspection, and approval of the first article. *6.5 Commercial adhesive. A source of supply for the commercial adhesive spe
