This Commercial Item Descriptio

2、n covers requirements for an electronic thermometer suitable for oral or rectal body temperature measurement in humans. Salient characteristics: The thermometer shall be a portable, battery powered, Fahrenheit/Celsius electronic clinical thermometer system consisting of a thermometer, battery charge

3、r/storage base, oral probe, rectal probe, disposable probe covers, and dispenser probe cover brackets. The battery charger shall operate from 110/220V, 50/60 Hz power. The battery charger shall be in compliance with UL 544, Standard for Medical and Dental Equipment. The thermometer shall have a pred

4、ictive mode temperature range of 90.0F to 107.gF, plus or minus 0.2OF. The thermometer shall have monitor mode temperature range of 88.0F to 107.gF, plus or minus O.ZF. The thermometer shall have a pulse mode range of 20 to 200 beats per minute (BPM). Pulse mode activation shall be by depressing a b

5、utton on the bottom of the thermometer. The thermometer shall have an LED charge light indicator on the display panel when the battery is recharging. The thermometer shall have a display panel that indicates temperature readi

7、ngs, tissue contact, pulse rate, and error messages on a five character minimum LED display. A rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery, that automatically recharges when placed in the battery charger/storage base shall be supplied with the thermometer. The battery shall recharge in no more than 10 hours

8、 Battery life shall be at least five hours continuous from fully charged state. The thermometer shall have the capability of both Celsius and Fahrenheit readings. The thermometer shall be capable of being hung around the neck for convenience during use. The thermometer shall have a compartment for

9、holding a box of disposable probe covers. The thermometer shall include one oral probe with a spring action cord approximately 2 feet long when coiled, approximately 4 feet long when stretched. It shall be capable of attachment to and detachment from the thermometer with ease. One rectal probe with

10、a spring action cord approximately 2 feet long when coiled, approximately 4 feet long when stretched shall also be included with the thermometer. It shall be capable of attachment to and detachment from the thermometer with ease. The thermometer shall be provided with 1000 clean, disposable, rigid p

11、lastic probe covers. The covers shall be 6 inches long and shall be fitted onto and removed from each probe without having to touch the probe cover. The thermometer shall be provided with a probe cover dispenser bracket which may be metal or plastic. If metal, it shall be corrosion-resisting steel,

The electronic thermometer shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impa

13、ir its serviceability. Unit. Each (EA). Oiie electronic thermometer, as specified, constitutes one unit. Quality Assurance Provisions. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specifiec in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requ

14、irements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to per

15、form any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests perfcrmed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made avai

16、lable to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as

17、 visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Samplincr for examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, wit

18、h an AQL of 1.0 (percent defective) and an inspection level of II. The unit of product for examination purposes shall be one thermometer. Samplins for tests. Sampling for tests, including dimensional test, shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 1.0 (percent defective) and

Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specif

20、ication requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics. Tests shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following: Accuracy test. Set the thermometer in the Monitor mode and set the Fahrenheit (OF) = Celsius (OC) to OF or O

21、C as desired. Install probe cover on the probe. Insert probe tip into a circulating water bath that has a known temperature between 88OF and 107.9OF and is accurate to within plus or minus 0.03OF. After 3 to 5 minutes, the displayed temperature should completely stop changing and shall be e ual to k

22、nown bath temperature to within plus or minus 0.2 8 F. Performance test. The thermometer shall be subjected to appropriate tests to determine that the thermometer conforms to all performance requirements of this specification. Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be consi

23、dered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric di

24、mensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Contractor certification. The contractor

25、 shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the rig

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered material in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 23.4 to the maximum extent practical.
