11、ines/Line Spacing - Distance measured from closest edges of two lines. m. Fill - The appropriate color or pattern existing within or overprinting the symbol. n. Information Box/Facility Box - A permanent box that is printed on the product and contains a variety of information. The box height and wid

12、th will vary in size to accommodate varying text information, o. Label - Labels consist of a variety of terminology and abbreviations, descriptive or identifying, that are either free-standing (geographic names, text description), or directly associated with a graphic symbol (point, line or area). A

13、 label box, or “window“ directly around an attribute code, i.e. NAM, on the symbol graphic indicates that variable text is required in that position, when known. For additional requirements, see 4.2.3 and 4-2.4, Any punctuation mark external to a label box must also be carried as part of the label.

14、p. Lower case - All letters of a word or words are in lower case text. All numbers are considered lower case to this and other referenced specifications and standards. q. Leader line - A line leading from a location point or symbol to the supporting information or text label. r. Lineweight - The thi

15、ckness (in millimeters) of a line measured between outside edges. s. Line:Fill - A fill screen imprinted between the bounding lines of a cased line symbol. t. Open Square - An unfilled square whose dimensions are measured across the square; outside perimeter edge to outside perimeter edge. u. Parall

16、el to south neatline - Oriented in same direction as the neatline at the bottom of the map/chart. For maps/charts with significant curvature of the south neatline, parallel to a line connecting lower left and lower right corners of the map/chart. v. 18、een - A regular pattern of dots, defined by a predetermined percentage (100% being solid) used to create tones of a given color. y. Tick - A short line located at specified intervals along a linear symbol and normally positioned perpendicular to that line. z. Tick Interval - Distance between the cen

19、ters of each tick in a set of two ticks. aa. Tick Spacing - Distance between the centers of each tick in a set of two ticks. bb. Type - All type is Swiss 742. cc. Type sizes - 4 to 36 point. dd. Type style - Specifications on capitalization, and appearance of the type, such as normal, light, bold, i

20、talic, and condensed. ee. Upper case - All letters of a word or words are in capital letters. ff. Upper 6r Lower case - The first letter of each word entry is a capital letter, followed by all lower case text. gg. Wing Tick - A short angular tick located at the end-point of a linear or point symbol.

This document is a comprehensive listing of MCGG symbols shown on Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) graphic (hardcopy) products, and the detailed specifications for each symbol. It provides t

23、he linkage between any required FACS Feature/attribute combination (see MIL-STD-2408) and its corresponding graphic symbol. 4.1,l Structa. The remaining three characters (numeric) assign a unique code to each alphabetized feature name within that subcategory. Feature Name - The name of feature

26、as specified in the Feature Attribute Coding Standard (FACS). A Feature is a physical (e.g., Bridge) or conceptual (e.g., Route-Nautical) entity of the real world which has one or more sets of coordinates to be included on a product. b. Values can be coded (e.g. EXS 003 = Reported), numeric, either a unique number (e.g., LTN = 1) or range of numbers (e.g., LTN 2 and = 5), or a textual attribute (e.g., COL of “F1 Rfl
