Label - Labels consist of a variety of terminology and abbreviations, descriptive or identifying, that are either free-standing (geographic names, text description), or directly associated with a graphic symbol (point, line or area). A
13、 label box, or “window“ directly around an attribute code, i.e. NAM, on the symbol graphic indicates that variable text is required in that position, when known. For additional requirements, see 4.2.3 and 4-2.4, Any punctuation mark external to a label box must also be carried as part of the label.

A Feature is a physical (e.g., Bridge) or conceptual (e.g., Route-Nautical) entity of the real world which has one or more sets of coordinates to be included on a product. b.
