Theparticularrequirementin

18、relationtotheabilityofhearingprotectorstoreducenoisebelowdailylimitlevelsis addressedinthestandardbyrequiringthesoundattenuationofthehearingprotectors,measuredinaccordance withEN248691,tobenotlessthanaspecifiedminimum.Further,byrequiringthatthemeasuredsound attenuationbedeclared,theselectionofsuitab

21、 ThePartsofEN352,otherthanParts1,2and3,covertheperformanceoffunctionsadditionaltopassivehearing protection.Hearingprotectorswhichincorporateoneormoreofthesefunctionsaresubjecttotherequirements andtestsofeachoftherelevantPartsofEN352,includingParts1,2or3,asappropriate. AnassociatedstandardEN458covers

22、selection,use,careandmaintenanceofhearingprotectors. Therequirementsofthestandardareconcernedprimarilywiththephysicalandacousticperformanceoftheear muffs. Thesizingrequirementsenablethegreatmajorityoftheindustrialpopulationtobefittedsatisfactorilyby”medium sizerange”earmuffs.Populationsofothersizesm

23、aybeaccommodatedby”smallsizerange”or”largesizerange” earmuffs,whicharerequiredtobeaccompaniedbyinformationregardingtherangeofsizeswhichtheyare designedtofit. Thestandardalsocallsforthevaluesofsoundattenuationaffordedbytheearmuffs(measuredinaccordancewith EN248691)inordertoassistpurchasersinselecting

24、themostappropriatemodelofearmuffsfortheirneeds. Minimumvaluesofsoundattenuationarealsospecified. Amaximumvariabilityininsertionloss,measuredobjectivelyafteraseriesofperformancetests,isspecified.The objectivetestmethodonlyfacilitatesthemakingofcomparativemeasurements,andtheinsertionlossvalues obtaine

Thelatter,whichrequiretheearmufftobetestedwhilstbeingwornbyhumantestsubjects,isregardedas providingthereferencetestmethodforthemeasurementoftheacousticperformanceofhearingprotectorsEN3521:2002(E) 5 1Scope Thispartofthestandardspecifiesrequirementsfor

26、construction,design,performance,markinganduser informationforearmuffs. Inparticular,itspecifiesthesoundattenuationoftheearmuffs,measuredinaccordancewithEN248691. Thispartofthestandarddoesnotdealwithearmuffsforattachmenttoahelmetorwhicharepartofahelmet. Ergonomicaspectsareaddressedbytakingintoaccount
