SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a solvent release type, black, polychloroprene rubber adhesive. It has good resistance to weather with an exceptionally long service life. 2. APPLICATION
3、 This specification was released originally for a material flow applied to seal and adhere neoprene and ethylene propylene rubber grommets to either neoprene and/or ethylene propylene rubber vacuum tubing. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part
4、 producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COLOR Black 3.3 SOLIDS, min 18% (ASTM D 2046, except heat at 102 +/- 3 C for 3 h in a mechanical convection oven) Save sample for next test. 3.4 ASH, based on solids weight, max 10% Test Meth

8、e and pull through until at least 4 in (100 mm) of hose length extends on each side of grommet holes. Apply cement into the grommet holes around all surfaces of the vacuum hoses with a Plews oiler or other suitable method. Care must be taken to insure adequate cement contact and coverage. . For norm
9、al adhesion, air dry 7 days prior to test. . For aged adhesion, air dry 3 days prior to heat and environmental cycling. . All tests on aged samples shall be conducted at 23 +/- 2 C. Use a ring test fixture to hold the grommet firm and remove each vacuum tubing from the grommet at a jaw separation ra
10、te of 20 in (500 mm) per minute (pendulum or cross head tensile machine, 200 lb (890 N) capacity). Care must be taken to pull tubing in a straight line from grommets. Maximum values obtained are recorded and a minimum average of 4 adhesion values shall be used. 3.7 COLD FLEXIBILITY No cracks permitt
11、ed Test Method: Apply a 0.010 x 1 in (0.3 x 25 mm) wet film of adhesive to a thin sheet of cellophane, polyethylene, or aluminum foil and air dry for 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C. Then condition the specimen in a cold box at -29 C for 4 h and bend 180 around a temperature conditioned 1/4 in (6 mm) mandrel. EN

Allow assembly to air dry at 23 +/- 2 C for 1 h. Wipe panels with a cloth wet with pet
13、roleum naphtha solvents M14J217 and/or M14J147. 3.9 ODOR The material shall be free from objectionable or irritating odors, both as received and after storage. 3.10 QUALITY The material shall be a smooth, homogeneous mixture free from foreign materials and properties detrimental to normal production
14、 operations. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 FLASH POINT 3 C (ASTM D 56) 5.2 FLAMMABILITY AND/OR TOXICITY This material represents a potential fire and/or health hazard. The Manufac
15、turing Engineering Department shall notify both the Plant Security and the Safety Units of its presence in the Plant to assure that proper fire and/or health precautions are provided. The location in which it is used or stored shall be included in the notifications. 5.3 WEIGHT PER VOLUME 8.1 - 8.5 lb/gal (ASTM D 816) (0.97 - 1.02 kg/l) The weight tolerance for any one supplier shall be +/- 0.2 lb/gal (+/- 0.024 kg/l) based on the recorded weight of his originally approved production sample.
