Materials Required Tape No. 898 (Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co. - 3M) 25 mm wide. Use only the No.
4、898 tape that is made in the U.S.A. Other No. 898 tapes have different adhesion characteristics. Store in original package in a dry, dark location. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/-
5、5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. FORD LABORATORY TEST METHOD BI 103-01 Page 2 of 3 Copyright 2001, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. Procedure A. Panels 1. Scribe two diagonal lines from corner to corner acros
6、s three test panels to the bare metal. Zinc-coated steel panels should be scratched through paint to zinc coating. (Do not penetrate to the bare steel). 2. Suspend the panels at an angle in the salt spray cabinet as specified in ASTM B 117 for the time designated by the material specification (testi
7、ng side up). 3. Rinse the panels with water, blot dry, and examine within 15 minutes. Measure and report in mm the maximum corrosion and blister creepage on either side of the scribed lines. Also examine panels for occurrence of surface blisters giving size and density according to ASTM D 714. In ca
8、se of zinc-coated panels, measure the maximum distance of blisters and raised paint from the scribed line. 4. Apply tape over each scribed line, in a parallel direction, using firm finger pressure to ensure contact with the panel surface (i.e., scribe line to be visible). This step is to be performe
9、d within 30 minutes after completion of Step 3. 5. Within 90 +/- 30 s of application, remove the tape by pulling back rapidly (do not jerk) at as close to an angle of 180 to the panel as possible. Evaluation Report in mm, corrosion and/or blister creep and loss of adhesion after the tape test from s

Suspend the parts in the salt spray cabinet in car position for the time designated by the individual specification. Parts shall not be scribed u

Rinse the parts with warm water and a soft sponge to remove runoff stain, blot dry and examine within 15 minutes. FORD LABORATORY TEST METHOD BI
