SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a multi-pl y deadener pad witha bitumen and/or plastic base flexible heavy layer and a fiber paddingconsist ing of natural and/or synthetic fibers. The fiber padding may bereplaced by a polyurethane foam pad.2. APPLICATIONThis material is used a

3、s a sound deadener pad in the pas senger compartment.3. REQUIREMENTSThe ma terial shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 hours at 20 +/- 2 Cand 65 +/- 3 % relative humidity prior to test.3.1 CONSTRUCTIONThis ma terial consists of a bitumen and/or plastic based flexiblehea vy layer and a non-woven

4、fiber padding consisting of naturaland/or synthetic fibers bonded with synthetic resins.The f iber padding may be replaced by a polyurethane foam pad (chipfoam ). There shall be no fiber or foam residue sticking to theanti-blocking surface of the heavy layer

7、pad after separation.Test Method:1) Cut 5 specimens 200 x 200 mm from material under test anddetermine weight and thickness per specimen.2) Ply-up and cover with an aluminum plate of same size.3) Load with a dead weight equalling a ply-up height of 500 mm minusweight of five specimens and cover plat

8、e.4) Expose assembly in a mechanical convection oven maintained at atemperature of 50 +/- 2 C for 2 weeks. Co ol to room temperature,remove weight and cover plate and examine as described above.3.8 SPLITTING RESISTANCE (Fiber Pad), min 2 kN/m2Test Method: (See Figure 2)1) Three test specimens 100 x

9、100 mm shall be bonded to two specimenholders each (see Figure 1) and conditioned for 24 hours at roomtemperature (use adhesive S-M2G4610-A or equivalent).2) Determine splitti ng resistance in a tensile testing machine at arate of pull of 25 mm/minute.3.9 HEAT RESISTANCENo se paration between fiber

10、or foam padding and heavy layer pad orsplitting of fiber or f oam padding. No deterioration of heavy layerpad.Test Method: (See Figure 3)1) Cut from material under test specimens 200 x 200 mm and bond withthe fiber or foam surface to primed metal panels 300 x 300 mmusing adhesive S-M2G4610-A or equi

12、ionafter 1 ho ur at 80 +/- 2 C ambient air temperature. Cool to roomtemperature prior to measuring shrinkage.3.11 MILDEW RESISTANCE AND ODORNo eviden ce of mildew development. The odor test shall be inaccordance with FLTM BO 131-01, maximum Rating 2.Test Method: Place a 100 x 100 mm sample of fiber

13、padding soakedwith distilled water in a beaker glass of one liter capacity andcover tightly with a lid. Maintain assembly at a temperature of 35+/- 2 C for 14 days. Remove lid and examine for evidence of mildewdevelopment.3.12 FLAMMABILITY3.12.1 S-M99G4601-B(ISO 3795)Burn Rate, max 250 mm/minuteDELT

15、liance, the samples size and method oftesting shall be in accordance with FLTM EU-BN 24-2.3.13 PERFORMANCE-ENVIRONMENTAL AGEING REQUIREMENTAll materials, portions of components, and compo sites defined by thisspecification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated,and exceed a maximum bur

16、n rate of 75 mm per minute as specified bythe Fla mmability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 24-2, must beevaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant propertiesper SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 according to the acce lerated environmentalageing requirements applicable to the basic mate rial cat

19、TIC OVERALL EFFICIENCY In accordance with Figure 4(FLTM EU-BV 60-3)3.15 STIFFENERS OF THE HEAVY LAYER According to graph on Page 9Note: This test is only applicable if required on Engineeringdrawing.Test Method:1) Cut five (5) 90 x 25 mm test s pecimens from the finished part andremove felt or foam

26、aterials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing

27、, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the re

28、quirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended proce

29、sses and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5.
