SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a very high heat resistantacrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene molding compound.2. APPLICATIONThe material was originally released for manufacturing of instrumentcluste

3、r bezel.3. REQUIREMENTSNote: The material shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h at 23 +/- 2C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity prior to test and tested under the sameconditions unless otherwise specified. The minimum and maximum values ofthis specification are based on natural colored and pigmen

4、ted material.3.1 REQUIREMENTS FOR TEST SPECIMENSAll tests shall be carried out on injection molded specimens with theexception of clause 3.1.6. The test specimens may be eithercompression molded, injection molded or extruded.Preparation of Injection Molded Test Specimens:Preparation of specimens acc

5、ording to ISO 294. The optimum moldingconditions shall be as recommended by the supplier of the moldingcompound. Test specimens must not be annealed.3.1.1 Density, Natural Colored 1.04 - 1.07 Mg/m3(ISO R 1183, Method A)This range may be exceeded by pigmented material.3.1.2 Yield Point, min 50 MPa(IS

6、O R 527, Type 1, thickness ofspecimen: 3.0 - 3.2 mm, testspeed: 50 mm/minute)3.1.3 Izod Impact Strength, Notched(ISO R 180, specimen size: 63.5 x12.7 x 3.2 mm, number of specimen:min 10 for each test)At 23 C, min 100 J/mAt - 40 C, min 35 J/mNote: The test specimens must be injection molded in the ab

Testing shall be done within the

8、cold box,if not possible, test can be conducted outside, but within 3seconds.3.1.4 Shear Modulus(ISO R 537, Method A, specimensize: 60 x 10 x 1 mm)At 23 C 940 - 1270 MPaAdditionally a shear modulus curve shall be plotted from - 50 Cto + 140 C and shall be within the tolerance range shown onpage 7. A

9、t least one measurement at 5 C intervals is necessaryto establish the curve.Note: The test specimens must be injection molded in the abovementioned size with front end gating and shall not be cut fromlarger test specimens.3.1.5 Vicat Softening Point, At 49 N, min 112 C(ISO 306, specimen size: 10 x 1

To demonstrate compliance, the sample sizeand method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTMEU-BN 24-2.3.1.6.2.1 Performance - Environmental AgeingRequirementAll materials, portions of co

14、mponents, andcomposites defined by this specificationthat have not been treated, modified orreformulated, and exceed a maximum burnrate of 75 mm per m as specified by theFlammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTMEU-BN 24-2, must be evaluated forpermanency of the materials flameretardant properties per S

15、K-M99P9500-A,Table 1 according to the acceleratedenvironmental ageing requirementsapplicable to the basic material categoryof this particular specification.Any material, portions of components, andcomposites defined by this specificationthat have been treated, modified orreformulated to conform to F

16、lammabilityLot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 24-2,regardless of maximum burn rate, must beevaluated for both permanency ofmaterials flame retardant properties andchanges in mechanical, chemical andphysical properties per SK-M99P9500-A,Table 1 applicable to the basic materialcategory of this particular

17、 specification.3.2 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS3.2.1 Accelerated Weather Resistance Rating 4, 200 SFH(FLTM BN 1-1, Fadometer)This requirement applies only for self-colored material indesign approved interior colors and is omitted for naturalcolored material.After exposure the material shall show no fading o

18、r colorchange in excess of specified AATCC rating (AATCC Gray Scalefor Evaluating Change in Color, 10 step). In addition, thereshall be no cracking, crazing or other deterioration. A slightloss of gloss or deposit will be allowed provided an acceptableappearance can be achieved by washing with water

20、tion, may conduct infrared and/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shallconstitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spect

21、raand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.4 SUBSTANCE CONTROLLegal, health, safety and environmental constraints may apply to thematerials which are submitted for approval to this specification.Refer to the Engineering Material Specification W

22、SS-M99P9999-A1.3.5 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in allcharacteristics to the material upon which approval was originallygranted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the mate

23、rialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of t

24、he Materials Engineering activity.Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to besubmitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materials Specification

25、 WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMaterials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Eng

26、ineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstratingfull compliance with all the requirements of this specifica

27、tion (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, andtest specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amaterial will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Upona
