APPLICATIONTh is specification was released originally for adhesives used tostructurally bond plastic bumper guide brackets to bumper fascia.This specifi

3、cation does not describe initial adhesive cu re conditions. Theprocedures for assembly bonding shall be prescribed in accordance toadhesive manufacturer and part supplier recommendations.Mate rials meeting this performance specification are identified on theCorporate Approved Source List.Compl iance

4、 with this performance specification does not guarantee thestr uctural adhesive will function for all potential applications on ave hicle. The specific design condition should be evaluated by a planttrial or laboratory simulation prior to release of the material.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCES

5、SSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is con

6、tinuously reduced.3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.EN

Allow test assemblies to condition 24 h minimum after en vironmentalexposure before pull test. Conduct shear pull test

11、 on a te nsile tester at a rate of 13 mm perminute . 12、 weight load to test samples and expose to 90 +/- 2 C for 24 h.3.5 MANDREL BEND FLEXIBILITY No cracking or adhesion loss tosubstrateTest Method:. Apply a 250 x 13 x 3 mm ribbon of adhesive centered lengthwise ontwo 250 x 50 x 3 mm panels identified in para 5.1. Condition test panels after adhesive a

13、pplication at 23 +/- 2 Cuntil full cure. (Reference para 5.2). Conduct 60 d eg mandrel bend test at 23 +/- 2 C and - 30 +/- 1 Cover a 50 mm diameter mandrel. Substrate is in contact withmandrel during test. Repeat above procedure on test assemblies heat aged at 70 +/- 2 Cfor 2 weeks.3.6 COLD SLAM RE

14、SISTANCE No cracking, adhesion or cohesion(FLTM BV 101-02, 10 cycles of failure6 slams per cycle at- 30 +/- 1 C, 3 samplesminimum) . Prepare test assemblies as illustrated in Figure I. Test substratesshall consist of 100 x 250 x 3 mm panels identified in para 5.1. Cond ition test assemblies after bo

15、nding at 23 +/- 2 C untiladhesive full cure. (Reference para 5.2). Mechan ically attach bonded test assembly to a 300 x 300 x 0.76 mmCRS base panel. Centrally locate test assembly on base panel. Conduct test as outlined per FL TM BV 101-02 following steps 9, 10,and 11 . Position panel in slam fixtur

16、e with test assembly facinginward. Subject each test assembly to 10 cycles of 6 slams percycle at - 30 +/- 1 C.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONWSB-M11P53-AWP 3948-b Page 4 of 7 3.7 REVERSE IMPACT PLAQUE TEST Test p laques shall exhibit no less(FLTM BO 117-02) than 8 0 % of the impact resistanceof

17、the control plaques and failuremode must be ductileTest Method:. Impact test samples must be inj ection molded 127 x 127 mm or 101.6x 101.6 mm plaques with smooth surfaces and 2.54 mm thick. Prepar e five test samples with adhesive applied to one side, 1.02mm thic k, covering at least a 76.2 mm diam

18、eter area in center ofplaque. Subject the five test plaques a nd the five control plaques to bakecycle below:30 minutes at 77 +/- 2 C (oven time)30 minutes at 23 +/- 2 C30 minutes at 77 +/- 2 C (oven time)Adhesive must be fully cured. (Reference para 5.2). Condit ion panels at test temperature for a

19、 minimum of 2.5 h priorto imp act testing. Reverse impact plaques (adhesive side out) at15 mph and a temperature of - 30 C +/- 1 C.3.8 FUEL RESISTANCEThe lo ad generated by any one supplier shall exhibit no greater thana 40 % loss from their recorded load generated in para 3.3.1.Test Method:. Prepar

20、e a minimum of 5 test assemblies for each immersio n conditionper para 3.3. Immerse test assemblies for 30 minutes at 23 +/- 2 C in thefollowing fuels: . Unleaded Gasoline. Unleaded Gasoline with 15 % methanol. Remove test assemblies and allo w to condition 3 days at 23 +/- 2 Cbefore pull test. Cond

24、ained perpara 3.3.1.3.10 BUMPER PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTSParts assembled with adhesive s hall meet all performance requirementsspeci fied on engineering drawing. In addition, bumper assembliesshal l be exposed to environmental conditions from section 3.3 asrecom mended by Body Engineering and Materia

25、ls Engineering. Thesebump ers will be impact tested and evaluated for approval by PPE,Design, and Materials Engineering. The tested bumpers shall yieldsatisfactory failure modes.3.11 FUNCTIONAL APPROVALMaterials being evaluated for a pproval to this specification shall besubj ected to a production t

26、rial. Functional trial results must beapp roved by the affected assembly operation and Design Engineering.Result s shall be made available to Materials Engineering prior tomaterial approval and release.3.12 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equ ivalent in a

27、llchar acteristics to the material upon which approval was originallygranted.Pri or to making any changes in the properties, composition,const ruction, color, processing, or labeling of the materialorigi nally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability

28、 to meet the specificationrequi rements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology, andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Enginee ring activity.Test data, test samples, and new code identification are to besubmit

Suppliers desiring approval oftheir mat erials shall first obtain an expr

31、ession of interest from theaffecte d Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringact ivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized repres entative of the test facilit

32、y, demonstratingfu ll compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), t he material designation and code number, andtest spec imens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateria l will be based on its performance to this specification and o

33、n anassess ment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Uponapproval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for clarification and assistance inmeeting the requirements of this specif
