APPLICATIONThis specification was originally released for material used as spot repairprimer on interior and exterior surfaces of vehicle bodies.The primer is used over current production primer surfacer and on areassanded through to bare metal.The prim er is suitable for use wit

3、h either solvent borne topcoats orwaterborne basecoats.The material is suitable for electrostatic spray application.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is requ

4、ired for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l ana

5、lysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the

6、reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless othe

10、.5.5 Storage Stability: 90 daysDuri ng a storage of 90 days between 5 and 32 C temperaturethe m aterial as supplied shall not settle up or cakeinsol uble. After the storage the material must pass allspecification requirements.3.6 PREPARATION OF TEST SPECIMEN3.6.1 Preparation of Test Panels(FLTM BI 1

12、 of Ford Engineering approved current productiontop coat materials, film thickness and baking as specified inthe relevant Material specification.Colours: Two coat silve r metallic and solid colour black andwhite.3.6.2 Preparation of Repair Panels:Sta ndard Steel Panels, zinc phosphated according toW

13、SK-M 3P1-C shall be electrocoated with current approvedelect rocoat primer and primed with current approved primersurf acer. Film thickness and baking as specified in therelevant Material Specifications.The Test panels shall b e sanded through to bare metal in thecentre in a spot of 30 mm diameter u

14、sing P400 sanding paperand cleaning petrol. After wipe off with cleani ng petrol thepanels are primed and painted as shown in 3.6.1.3.6.3 AgeingTest panels prepared under this specification shall be agedfor at least 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 45 +/- 1 C beforetesting for resistance properties.3.7

15、 APPEARANCE (Primer only)Col our, gloss and surface finish shall match master Trim Sampleand/or Master Appearance Sample as approved by Design.3.7.1 Colour light grey or(FLTM BI 109-01) beige3.7.2 Gloss, visual matt3.8 PAINT FILM PROPERTIES3.8.1 LevelingThe sur face of the primer shall be smooth wit

16、hout anystructure and not more than a minimum of orange peel whenapplied in a dry film thickness of 25 micrometre.3.8.2 HoldoutNo evidence of dulling, no craters or pinholes and no changein i mage clarity when enamel colour coat is applied overunsanded repair primer.Test pan els prepared according t

23、ble for application in accordance withappropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification U-C800.The primer must be compatible with all related materials e.g.:sealers, adhesives, electrocoat primers and paint materials.3.13 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must b

24、e equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the

25、 materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identificati

26、on areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engine

27、eringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Des

28、ign and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the require

29、ments of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtest specimens for Ford evaluation. In addition to meeti ng the requirementsof thi s specification, the materials will be assessed for suitability forintended applications as part o f the app
