SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a well-refined middle distillate petroleum product containing normal commercial additives. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released original
3、ly for material used as initial fill fuel for diesel engines in passenger cars and trucks designed to operate on 15 ppm max sulfur fuel with cold flow properties controlled year round. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. This mat
4、erial must meet the requirements of ASTM D975 Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils plus the following: 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed
5、 on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The use of cold flow improver additives may be used with approval of Fuels and Lubricants Engineering. 3.19 COLOR The material shall be dyed in accordance with Custo
13、ms and Excise requirements. 3.20 CONDUCTIVITY Report (ASTM D2624/ASTM D4308) 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 F
14、LAMMABILITY This material represents a potential fire hazard. The Manufacturing Engineering Department or other responsible activity shall notify both the Security and Safety Units of its presence to assure that proper fire precautions are provided. The location in which it is used or stored shall b
15、e included in the notifications. 4.2 SAMPLING AND SUBMISSION OF SAMPLES (ASTM D4057/D 4177) 4.3 Quality Control records must be made available to Fuels and Lubricants Engineering upon request. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression o
16、f interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the
17、Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4
18、.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. 19、aking any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes
20、 (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Pro
21、cess (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P
22、9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 5.
