5、ing to this standard shall be the alkali coloring in principle. If the requirements for corrosion resistance in paragraph 3.3 are met, however, other finishing methods (e.g. temper color). * The alkali coloring method is to form an oxidation coating on the surface of parts in the high-temperature al

6、kali solution or mixed melt solution. 3.1.2 The appearance of coating formed by the alkali coloring method shall be black with gloss. 3.2 Post Treatment. To improve the corrosion resistance of the coating, appropriate anti corrosive shall be applied after coating. 3.3 Corrosion Resistance. There sha

7、ll be no occurrence of rust on 5 % or more of the effective surface of the test piece after testing for 12 hours according to EDS-T-7143. 3.4 Dimensional Tolerance. The dimensional deviation caused by this treatment shall be within the tolerance in the drawing. 3.5 Test. 3.5.1 All tests shall be per

8、formed at 235 E . 3.5.2 Test Sample. 3.5.2.1 In principle, test sample shall be taken from the products. However, in case it is impracticable to perform test on the product, general cold-rolled steel sheets SPCC, EDS-M-1101 may be substituted for the test piece. 3.5.2.2 The test sample shall be subj

9、ected to identical treatment with the manufacturing process of the products in principle. 3.5.3 Test Standards. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved

11、 by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial

12、release must be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be rep

13、eated and documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Initial Source Approval. No shipments shall be made by any supplier until

14、representative initial production samples have been approved by the appropriate Materials Engineering department(s) as meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.5 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition

15、of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, pr

16、oduct MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.6 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances

17、 for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualifications of an approved source are required for this standard. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File under this standard number have been qualified by Engineering as meeting the requirements of this standard. For other GM locations, the respons
