SCOPE. This commercial item descripti

CLASSIFICATION.Type I Bastard-cutType II Second-cutType III Smooth-cuta71 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.3.1 Desirer. The file shall be tapered on all sides at least one-thi

3、rd (1/3) of the length to the point.Double-cut on each surface (two sets of parallel cuts on the surface, one set crossing the other), Sides atany point on the file shall be of equal width. Edges set (blunted), then double-cut. No portion shallextend outside of the area of the largest cross-section

The file shall be of a carbon alloy steel3.4 Shall be of a conventional shape and size suitable for attachment to a wood handle.Tempered to a maximum hardness of 45 on the Rockwell C scale when tested per ASTM El 8, ,It shallbe measured at a point

8、 approximately midway of its length and width.3.5 = Shall be uniformly cut or etched and of uniform height throughout the fully cut portion.Cutting surfaces shall be hardened to a uniform hardness. The distance between the heel and point ofthe file, excluding the tang, shall be hardened to not great

9、er than 68 nor less than 64 on the Rockwell Cscale when tested per ASTM E 18. The tile shall be free from decarburization and brittleness.3.6 Marking. The file shall be marked with the name of the manufacturer or with a trademark of suchknown character that the source of manufacture maybe readily de

10、termined.3.7 Workmanship. The teeth of the file shall be well-defined, sharp, and uniform in height and form.There shall be no evidence of rust or other defect which may impair serviceability, durability orappearance.4. 12、etric dimensions will be considered on an equal basiswith those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified(using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376) and all otherrequirements of this document are met. If a product i

13、s manufactured to metric dimensions and thosedimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch- pound units, a request should be made to thecontracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE.5.1 Product Conformance. leproduct provided shall meet thesalient char

14、acteristics of thisCommercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawing, specifications, standards, andquality assurance practices, mdbethe smeproduct offered forsale inthecommercial mmket. Thegovernment reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.5.2 Responsibility for Insp

15、ection. Unless otherwise specified, thecontractor irresponsible fortlleperformance of all inspection requirements and may use any commercial facilities (including thecontractors own facilities) suitable for performance of the inspection requirements, unless disapprovedby the Government. The Govermne

16、nt reserves the right to perform any of the inspections deemednecessary to assure the item conforms to the specified requirements.a71 6. PACKAGING.
