It is of interest to notethat the peak efficiencies of all propellem tested isfound at a blade angle of approximately 35.The chart (fig. 43) is of value in demonstrating thefact that the present commonly used power plant of660 horsepower in combination with a 10-foot propellerc

6、ould be used to best advantme in the speed range220 to 300 miles per hour. A 1,000-horsepower engineused on the same size propeller could be used to great-est advantage at about 26 percent higher speeds or inthe range of 270 to 370 miles per hour.
