30、rd on Protective Ensembles for Contaminated Water Diving 2016 Edition This inaugural edition of NFPA 1953, Standard on Protective Ensembles for Contaminated Water Diving, was prepared by the Technical Committee on Special Operations Protective Clothing and Equipment and released by the Correlating C

31、ommittee on Fire and Emergency Services Protective Clothing and Equipment. It was issued by the Standards Council on May 26, 2015, with an effective date of June 15, 2015. This edition of NFPA 1953 was approved as an American National Standard on June 15, 2015. Origin and Development of NFPA 1953 Th

32、e Technical Committee on Special Operations Protective Clothing and Equipment began the process to create the rst edition of NFPA 1953 in 2008 with a request to Standards Council. After some clarication, the committee received permission to begin work on a draft, which was completed and approved by

33、the Standards Council in August 2012. The technical committee developed NFPA 1953 with the goal of establishing protection requirements for protective clothing and equipment to reduce the safety risks and health risks associated with exposure of personnel to the hazards of contaminated water diving.
