16、nterpretations of NFPA Documents A statement, written or oral, that is not processed in accordance with Section 6 of the Regulations Governing Committee Projects shall not be considered the official position of NFP A or any of its Committees and shall not be considered to be, nor be relied upon as,

17、a Formal Interpretation. Patents The NFPA does not take any position with respect to the validity of any patent rights referenced in, related to, or asserted in connection with an NFPA Document. It was issued by the StandardsCouncilonJanuary14,2014,withaneffectivedateofFebruary3,2

30、014,andsuper- sedesallpreviouseditions. ThiseditionofNFPA601wasapprovedasanAmericanNationalStandardonFebruary3, 2014. OriginandDevelopmentofNFPA601 The text dates from 1925 when the NFPACommittee on Field Practice presented a set of advisory rules called The Watchman, which was adopted and published

31、 by the NFPA and re- printed in 1930, 1936, and 1949. Jurisdiction for the publication was transferred in 1948 to theCommitteeonFireBrigadesandWatchmen,whichpresentedrevisionsunderthetitleThe Watchman,RecommendedManualofInstructionandDutiesforthePlantWatchmanorGuard,which was adopted in 1951. Furthe

32、r amendments were adopted in 1956. In 1968, NFPA 601 was revisedunderthetitleRecommendationsforGuardServiceinFireLossPrevention.Itwasatthistime that NFPA601A, Standard for Guard Operations in Fire Loss Prevention, was published as a sepa- ratestandard. In 1969, the committee was reorganized as theTe

33、chnical Committee on Loss Prevention ProceduresandPractices. NFPA601wasrevisedin1969,1975,1981,and1986,andNFPA601Awasrevisedin1981.In 1986NFPA601AwasreconfirmedandredesignatedNFPA602. In1992,NFPA601incorporatedNFPA602forthebenefitoftheuser. In 1995, the standard was completely revised to reflect mod

34、ern security methods, termi- nology,andtechniques. Changesforthe2000editionwereprimarilyeditorialorweremadeforclarification. The2005editionwasupdatedtoconformtotheManualofStyleforNFPATechnicalCommittee Documents. Changes were primarily editorial, including revisions to several definitions for correl

35、ationwiththeGlossaryofTerms. The2010editionrepresentedareconfirmationofthetechnicalrequirementsinthestan- dard.MinoreditorialchangeswereincludedforconsistencywiththeManualofStyleforNFPA Technical Committee Documents. The 2015 edition includes some minor editorial changes in addition to updating the
