It was issued by the Standards Council on November 12, 2013,with an effective date of December 2, 2013, and supersedes all previous editions.This edition of NFPA 730 was approved as an America
30、n National Standard on December 2,2013.Origin and Development of NFPA 730The genesis of NFPA 730 was a request in 1994 to develop a burglary/security document.The project did not materialize until 2000, when the Standards Council appointed a commit-tee to develop a premises security document. The co
31、mmittee responded by developing twodocuments, NFPA 731, Standard for the Installation of Electronic Premises Security Systems, andNFPA 730, Guide for Premises Security.The 2006 edition of NFPA 730 updated references and made other minor modifications.The chapter on Industrial Facilities was modified
32、 to include key control measures, securityoperations, infrastructure protection, and a new section on water treatment facilities.The 2008 edition of NFPA 730 was updated to add new requirements for industrial secu-rity. Specifically, new material was added for the protection of water treatment facil
33、ities. Otherchanges reflected corrections, updated references, and clarifications.The 2011 edition updated many of the references. The guide also added more material oncrime prevention through environmental design (CPTED). The majority of the other changeswere editorial in nature.The 2014 edition ha
34、s been revised to update many of the referenced publications. Section4.3 has been revised to clarify some of the requirements of security planning, including theprioritization of risks identified in the SVA and the frequency of when to review and updatethe SVA. This edition has also included a graph
35、 that can be used as a guide to sort the risksidentified in the SVA. The responsibility for the SVA has been clarified, and other changesrelative to the qualifications of the SVA provider have been addressed. Section 8.4 has alsobeen revised to further detail both the need and criteria for protectiv
