Security Lopo parachute manufactured in 12-81 that failed pull testing
2、 during a routine inspection and repack procedure, the PIA Technical Committee recommends: 1) All “orphaned” (manufacturer is no longer in business) round reserve/emergency canopies manufactured prior to January 1990 with mesh covered vents be tensile tested per PIA TS-108 (“Parachute Canopy Fabric Pull Test, Non-Destructive Method”) at the next inspection/repack. 2) That this pull test be repeated on an annual basis. 3) Report all test results to techcomPIA.com - include mfg, model, S/N, DOM, panels tested, fabric colors, etc.
