This specification covers one type of nylon webbing used in the manufacture of critical use tubular edge webbing. 1.2 Classification. The nylon tube edge webbing shall be manufactured in a 3/4 inch width. 1.3 Salient
3、characteristics. The webbing shall be manufactured from nylon 6,6 on a shuttleless narrow fabric loom. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. 17、nless otherwise stated herein or in the contract, in the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. 18、en obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.1 and 6.2). 3.2 Standard. Where applicable, the dyed webbing shall match the standard for shade and appearance and shall, unless otherwise
19、indicated, be equal to or better than the standard with respect to all characteristics for which the standard is referenced (see 6.1). 3.3 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent po
20、ssible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.4 Material. 3.4.1 Yarns. The nylon yarn used in the manufacture of the webbing shall be a bright, high tenacity, light and heat resistant polyam
21、ide. Nylon 6,6 with polyester or nylon identification yarns (see 3.4.3) shall be used as specified in TABLE I and the procurement document. The yarns shall not be bleached. 22、nd identification yarns shall be as specified in TABLE I. 3.4.3 Identification yarns. 3.4.3.1 Pattern identification yarn. One green pattern identification yarn shall be continuously visible and interwoven in the center of the webbing on one face only as detailed in paragraph 3.7. The yarn shall be
23、as specified in TABLE I, and shall be an approximate shade match to Green per color chip 14115 to FED-STD-595. 3.4.3.2 Lock stitch shuttleless loom identification yarn. The webbing shall be woven with a knit edge containing a black lock stitch yarn as shown in FIGURE 1. The yarn shall be as specifie
24、d in TABLE I. 3.4.3.3 Manufacturers identification yarn. Each manufacturer of this webbing shall incorporate, as part of the stuffer yarns, 2 polyester ends dyed to match the shade assigned to that manufacturer in accordance with PIA-STD-1480 (see 6.2 and 6.3). The yarn shall be as specified in TABL
25、E I and shall be woven as detailed in paragraph 3.7. 3.5 Color. The color of the webbing shall be Yellow per color chip 13655 of FED-STD- 595. 3.5.1 Visual shade matching. When evaluated in accordance with 4.5.5, the color of the dyed webbing shall match the standard with sources simulating artifici
26、al daylight and shall be a good match to the standard under incandescent lamplight. 3.5.2 Colorfastness to light. PIA has adopted AATCC 16.3 as an acceptable alternative test method to AATCC 16.2 for the testing of Narrow Fabrics using Xenon (see TABLE V). 3.5.3 Colorfastness. When tested as specifi

The webbing shall be a double plain weave with tubular edges
34、 and textured nylon stuffers and woven as shown in FIGURE 2. 3.8 Finish. The webbing shall be supplied treated with a combination of Resin per Class R of PIA-W-27265 and Dooley Chemical Companys Lubricant ECQ or an equivalent approved by Natick Laboratories. 3.9 pH. The pH value of the water extract
35、 of the finished webbing shall be no less than 5.5 nor more than 9.0 when tested as specified in 4.4.4. 3.10 Resistance to light and heat. The webbing shall lose no more than 25.0 percent of its original breaking strength when tested for resistance to light and heat as specified in 4.4.4. 3.11 Curva
36、ture. The webbing shall show no more lateral curvature than 1/4 inch within a yard when tested as specified in 4.5.4. 3.12 Length and put-up. The put-up of the webbing and the minimum length of piece shall be as specified in the procurement document. If not specified, the webbing shall be furnished
37、on spools containing 190 to 200 yards. Each spool shall contain no more than 4 pieces. No piece shall be less than 20 yards in length. 3.13 Fiber identification. When directed in the procurement document or purchase order, each spool of webbing shall be labeled or ticketed for fiber content in accor
38、dance with the Rules and Regulations under the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act per 16 CFR 303 (see 2.2). 3.14 Workmanship. The finished webbing shall conform to the quality of product established by this specification and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable Acceptable
39、 Quality Limits. 3.15 Date of manufacture. The textile manufacturer shall properly identify the age of the textile materials by placing a tag on the finished goods or label the containers identifying the specification to which the material is manufactured, the lot number and the date of manufacture.
40、 The date of manufacture is defined as the last manufacturing process that affects the physical characteristics of the material. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2) b. Conforma
41、nce inspection (see 4.3). 4.2 First article inspection. The first article, submitted in accordance with 3.1, shall be inspected as specified in 4.3 through 4.4 for compliance with design, construction, workmanship and dimensional requirements. 42、9 4.3 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall include the examination of 4.3.1, 4.4 and 4.5 as applicable. Sampling for inspection shall be performed as specified in this document, unless otherwise specified in the contract or order. 4.3.1 Component and material inspection. In accordanc
43、e with 4.1 above, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced specifications, drawings, and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable procurement documents. 4.3.1.2 Certificates of Co
44、mpliance. Where Certificates of Compliance are submitted in accordance with TABLE III and VI, they shall contain verifiable actual test and inspection data. The Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4.3.1.3 Component testing. In addition
45、to the quality assurance provisions of the subsidiary specifications, component materials listed in TABLE III shall be tested for the specified characteristics in accordance with the referenced test methods. The lot size shall be unacceptable if one or more units fail to meet any requirement specifi
46、ed. All test reports shall contain the individual values utilized in expressing the final result.
