While the strap used was identical to those used to secure crew members during sleep periods, the strap was not able to withstand the loads that the crew member could apply from a hunched/pulling position. The strap was never designed to hold t

3、he maximum loads that a crew member could apply.Lesson(s) Learned: Given the crucial role of the crew-hardware interface in accomplishing science objectives, specific attention must be paid to human factors and ergonomic principles.1. All hardware (even if previously qualified) must be subjected to

4、a crew applied loads analysis or evaluation for the new application.2. Hardware to be used by the crew should be evaluated for the maximum load that the crew could apply, as opposed to loads applied in a nominal position.3. The front-end application of ergonomic principles into designs would maximiz
