2、ng a refocusing or resizing of project personnel resources. Thus, several employees were trimmed from the work force, causing a deflation in morale among the remaining Project personnel, in addition to the loss in capability. In response, the Project/Program management actively sought to place the t

3、rimmed workforce with other employment, either throughout the Programs other projects or with external sources. Knowing that their welfare was being protected and advocated for, the Project employees were able to sustain their productivity and morale.Lesson(s) Learned: During Project downsizing and/

4、or redirecting, care must be taken to allow people to adjust. This may mean finding employees alternate work so that they are not caught off guard, demoralized, or unsupported. This philosophy strengthens each remaining team members commitment to the team and to management, increases morale, reduces

5、 anxiety, and maintains productivity.Recommendation(s): Project management must help employees secure alternative employment if necessary. Hiring contacts both within and external to the Program should be identified and maintained throughout the Projects lifecycle. These resources may even be includ

6、ed in the Projects risk management plan such that employee confidence is increased. People are our greatest resource.
