Type 1 shall contain phenols, cresols, or both. Type 2 shall contain no phenols or cresols. Class 1 remover s

20、 -3.2.1.2 Sandwich Corrosion: Specimens shall pass the sandwich corrosion test, determined in accordance with ASTM F 1110.3.2.1.3 Low-Embrittling Cadmium Plate: Panels plated with low-embrittling cadmium plate shall not show a weight change greater than 0.3 mg/cm2per 24 hours, determined in accordan
21、ce with ASTM F 1111.3.2.2 Hydrogen Embrittlement: The product shall be non-embrittling, determined in accordance with ASTM F 519, Types 1a, 1c, or 2a, at recommended operating temperature.3.2.3 Flash Point: Shall be not lower than 60 C (140 F), determined in accordance with ASTM D 93, and should exc
22、eed the maximum operating temperature by at least 5 C (9 F).3.2.4 Performance: The product, used in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, shall remove epoxy polyamine/aliphatic isocyanate urethane, epoxy polyamine/epoxy polyamide, or both topcoat paint systems from substrates, determined in
23、 accordance with 4.5.1. Product shall remove not less than 90% of the paint within one hour without brushing.3.2.5 Storage Stability: Concentrated product, stored for six months in a 1 gallon (4 L) glass bottle, shall show no visible evidence of deterioration and shall conform to the other requireme
24、nts of 3.2.3.3 Quality: The paint remover, as received by purchaser, shall be homogeneous within one-phase products and within each phase of two-phase products and free from foreign materials detrimental to usage of the product.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The
25、vendor of the paint remover shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of this specifica
26、tion.4.2 Classification of Tests: 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Tests for total immersion corrosion (3.2.1.1) and performance (3.2.4) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: Tests for all technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall be performed prior
27、 to or on the initial shipment of a product to a purchaser, when a change in ingredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required.AMS 1374A SAE AMS 1374A- 5 -4.2.2.1 For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data
28、and, when requested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by the procuring activity, contracting officer, or request for procurement.4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be in accordance with ASTM D 1568; a lot shall be all product produced in a single produc
29、tion run from the same batches of raw materials under the same fixed conditions and presented for vendors inspection at one time.4.3.1 When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed upon by purchaser and vendor, sampling shall be in accordance with such plan in lieu of sampling as in 4.3 and the r
30、eport of 4.6 shall state that such plan was used.4.4 Approval: 4.4.1 Sample remover shall be approved by purchaser before remover for production use is supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production remover shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approv
31、ed sample.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, and methods of inspection on production remover which are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample remover. If necessary to make any change in ingredients or in manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit for
32、reapproval a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, sample remover. Production remover made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Test Methods: Shall be as follows, conducted at a temperature recommended by t
33、he manufacturer.4.5.1 Paint Removal: 4.5.1.1 Panel Preparation: Three panels, nominally 0.020 x 3 x 6 inch (0.5 x 76 x 152 mm) of AMS 4041 aluminum alloy shall be cleaned with methyl ethyl ketone or acetone, anodized in accordance with AMS 2471, prime coated with MIL-P-23377 epoxy primer to a dry fi
34、lm thickness of 0.5 to 0.9 mil (12.7 to 22.9 m), dried for 60 minutes 5, coated with a 0.8 to 1.1 mil (20 to 27.9 m) thickness of MIL-C-83286 urethane, dried for 4 hours 0.25, coated with a second 0.8 to 1.1 mil (20 to 27.9 m) thick coat of MIL-C-83286 urethane, and dried for not less than 48 hours.
35、 Coated panels shall be baked for 96 hours 1 at 100 C 5 (212 F 9), cooled to ambient temperature, and stored in a desiccator until used for tests.4.5.1.2 Procedure: Bring the paint remover up to manufacturers maximum recommended use temperature over at least four hours, immerse the test panels in th
36、e heated remover for 60 minutes 1, remove the panels, and thoroughly rinse in tap water. Determine percent of paint removed.AMS 1374A SAE AMS 1374A- 6 -4.6 Reports: The vendor of the remover shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the accept
37、ance test requirements and stating that the remover conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, AMS 1374A, manufacturers identification, lot number, and quantity.4.6.1 A material safety data sheet conforming to AMS 2825, or equivalent, shall be
38、supplied to each purchaser prior to, or concurrent with, the report of preproduction test results or, if preproduction testing be waived by purchaser, concurrent with the first shipment of remover for production use. Each request for modification of remover formulation shall be accompanied by a revi
39、sed data sheet for the proposed formulation.4.7 Resampling and Retesting: If any specimen used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the remover may be based on the results of testing three additional specimens for each original nonconforming specimen. Failure o
40、f any retest specimen to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the remover represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 Packaging and Identification: 5.1.1 The remover shall be packaged in containers of a type and size acceptable to p
41、urchaser.5.1.2 A lot of remover may be packaged in small quantities and delivered under the basic lot approval provided lot identification is maintained.5.1.3 Each container shall be legibly marked with not less than AMS 1374A, purchase order number, manufacturers identification, lot number, and qua
42、ntity. 5.1.4 Containers of remover shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the remover to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 5.1.5 For direct U
43、.S. Military procurement, packaging shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1, Commercial Level, unless Level A is specified in the request for procurement. 6.
