5、Superseding AMS2451/13 Plating, Brush, Silver RATIONALE AMS2451/13A is the result of a Five-Year Review and update of this specification with a change to paragraph 3.2.2 hydrogen embrittlement. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Purpose This specification covers the engineering requirements and process for brush plating

6、of silver by electrodeposition. It shall be used, in conjunction with AMS2451, for silver deposits. 1.2 Application This process has been used typically to provide low electrical contact resistance, prevent galling or seizing of surfaces of parts, and corrosion protection, but usage is not limited t

7、o such applications. 1.3 Safety - Hazardous Materials Shall be in accordance with AMS2451. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS In addition to those listed in AMS2451, the issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herei

8、n. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. 10、NICAL REQUIREMENTS Shall be in accordance with AMS2451 and as follows. 3.1 Procedure 3.1.1 Silver shall be electrodeposited from a silver brush plating solution in accordance with processing instructions from the solution manufacturer. 3.1.2 The equipment, materials, and procedures used to process s

11、pecimens and parts shall conform to a schedule of control factors (see AMS2451) and to the recommendations of the manufacturer of the selective plating equipment and processing materials. 3.1.3 A preliminary strike or bonding layer of nickel and copper, palladium or gold may be used. 3.2 Properties

12、3.2.1 Thickness Where silver flash is specified, plate thickness shall be approximately 0.0001 inch (2.5 m). 3.2.2 Hydrogen Embrittlement Shall be in accordance with AMS 2451. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: Shall be in accordance with AMS2451. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY Shall be in accordance wit
