TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Material:Shall consist of a blend of petroleum hydrocarbons from a straight-run distillate from cr

The odor of the solvent shall be typical of a “sweet” or slightly aromatic odor after 24 hours of air d
18、rying at room temperature on filter paper.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The vendor of the solvent shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any
19、 confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the solvent conforms to the requirements of this specification.4.2 Classification of Tests: 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Specific gravity (3.2.2), flash point (3.2.3), distillation (3.2.4), and corrosion (3.2.6) are acceptance tests and shall be perfo
20、rmed on each lot.4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: All technical requirements of this specification are classified as preproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the initial shipment of solvent to a purchaser, when a change in material and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and wh

If solvent cannot
23、be identified by batch or tank, a lot shall consist of not more than 10,000 gallons (37854 L) presented for delivery at one time.4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Solvent shall be approved by purchaser before solvent for production use is supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on p
24、roduction solvent shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approved sample.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, and methods of inspection on production solvent which are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample solvent. If necessary to make any change
25、 in ingredients or in manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, sample solvent. Production solvent made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Report
26、s:The vendor of solvent shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests on each lot to determine conformance to the acceptance test requirements and stating that the solventconforms to the other technical requirements of this specification. This report shall include the purcha
27、se order number, AMS 3165E, lot number, and quantity.4.6 Resampling and Retesting: If any sample used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of thesolvent may be based on the results of testing three additional samples for each original nonconforming sample. Failure
28、 of any retest sample to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the solvent represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 Identification:Each container of solvent shall be legibly marked with not less than AMS 3165E, purchase order numb
29、er, manufacturers identification lot number, and quantity.5.2 Packaging:5.2.1 Containers of solvent shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the solvent t
