SCOPE:1.1 Form: This specification covers a nitrile (NBR) rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes.1.2 Application: Primarily for parts, such as gaskets, diaphragms, bushi

Test specimens shall be prepared and mounted in accordance with ASTM D 518, Method B.3.2.8 Corrosion: The product s

23、hall not have a corrosive effect on other materials when exposed to conditions normally encountered in service, determined by a procedure agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. Discoloration of metal shall not be considered objectionable.3.3 Quality: The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uni

24、form in quality and condition, smooth, as free from foreign materials as commercially practicable, and free from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product.3.4 Tolerances: Shall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS 2279 or MAM 2279.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility

25、for Inspection: The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of

26、this specification.4.2 Classification of Tests: 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Tests for the following requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot:4.2.2 Periodic Tests: Tests for the following requirements are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the ven

29、gredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required.4.2.3.1 For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, when requested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by

30、the procuring activity, contracting officer, or request for procurement.4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be as follows:4.3.1 For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient product shall be taken at random from each lot to perform all required tests. The number of determinations for each requirement shall be as spe

31、cified in the applicable test procedure or, if not specified therein, not less than three.4.3.1.1 If specimens cannot be prepared from the product, ASTM test specimens prepared from the same batch and state of cure shall be used. When the product is an extrusion of such shape that suitable test spec

32、imens cannot be cut from the product, a separate flat strip test sample from the same production lot shall be supplied upon request. This strip shall be prepared from tubing 1.000 inch 0.063 (25.40mm 1.60) in OD by 0.075 inch 0.008 (1.90 mm 0.20) in wall thickness, mechanically slit and flattened in

33、to a strip while being extruded, and cured in the same manner as production product. When the product is a molded shape from which test specimens cannot be cut, a slab, 6 inches (152 mm) square by 0.075 inch 0.008 (1.90 mm 0.20) thick, molded from the same batch of compound shall be supplied upon re

34、quest.4.3.1.2 A lot shall be all product from the same batch of compound processed in one continuous run and presented for vendors inspection at one time. An inspection lot shall not exceed 500 pounds (227 kg) and may be packaged in smaller quantities and delivered under the basic lot approval provi

35、ded lot identification is maintained.4.3.1.3 A batch shall be the quantity of compound run through a mill or mixer at one time.4.3.1.4 When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed upon by purchaser and vendor, sampling shall be in accordance with such plan in lieu of sampling as in 4.3.1 and the

38、upplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production product shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approved sample.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes, and methods of inspection on production product which are essentially

39、the same as those used on the approved sample product. If necessary to make any change in ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, or in manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing, and, when requested, sa

40、mple product. Production product made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Reports: The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the acceptance test requirements and, when perf

41、ormed, to the periodic test requirements, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 3213L, vendors compound number, form and size or part number, and quantity.4.6 Resampling and Retesting: If any sp

42、ecimen used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the product may be based on the results of testing three additional specimens for each original nonconforming specimen. Failure of any retest specimen to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for rejecti

43、on of the product represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 Identification and Packaging: Shall be in accordance with AMS 2810.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT: A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledgi

44、ng purchase orders.7.
