、9-05 Superseding AMS3334D Silicone Rubber Extreme Low-Temperature Resistant 35 - 45 RATIONALE AMS3334E results from a Five Year Review and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a silicone rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes. 1

、.2 Application Primarily for rubber-like parts required to operate or seal from -112 to +248 F (-80 to +120 C), compounded especially for operation at extreme low temperatures. Silicone rubber is resistant to deterioration by weathering and by high-aniline-point petroleum-base oils and remains flexi

、ble over the temperature range noted. These products are not normally suitable for use in contact with low-aniline-point petroleum-base fluids, including fuels, due to excessive swelling. 1.3 Safety Hazardous Materials While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced

、 in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precauti

、onary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The purchase order date shall stipulate the published document that shall be in effect. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision unless a particular revision is specified. When the referenced

、document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified, the last published revision shall apply 2.2 SAE Publications Available from SAE International, 400 Commonwealth Drive, Warrendale, PA 15096-0001, Tel: 877-606-7323 (inside USA and Canada) or 724-776-4970 (outside USA), www.s

SAE AMS3334E Page 5 of 5 4.5 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a r

、eport showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the acceptance test requirements and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS3334E, vendors compound number, form or part number, and quan

、tity. 4.6 Resampling and Retesting If any specimen fails, a retesting of three additional specimens for each nonconforming specimen shall be necessary for product acceptance. The same batch/lot of product used for the failed test shall be used for retesting. Failure of any retest specimen shall be c

、ause for rejection. Results of all tests shall be reported. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaging and Identification Shall be as specified in the parts standard, drawing or purchase document. If not specified, shall be as follows: Packaging shall be in accordance with AMS2810. A lot may be packa

、ged in small quantities and delivered under the basic lot approval provided lot information in maintained. 5.1.1 Each package, box, and shipping container shall be permanently and legibly marked with the following when pertinent: Specification number AMS number with revision, class, grade, and type

、Manufacturers identification Manufacturers product designation Batch/lot number Date of manufacturing/packaging Shelf life expiration date Storage conditions 6. 40、rders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8. NOTES 8.1 A change bar (l) located in the left margin is for the convenience of the user in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes

、, have been made to the previous issue of this document. An (R) symbol to the left of the document title indicates a complete revision of the document, including technical revisions. Change bars and (R) are not used in original publications, nor in documents that contain editorial changes only. 8.2 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound units and the Fahrenheit temperatures are primary; dimensions and properties in SI units and the Celsius temperatures are shown as the approximate equivalents of the primary units and are presented only for information.
